Chief Engineer Block Mill Operations | Steel Rolling Mill | Angola

Role & Responsibilities

- Undergo machine-operation and commissioning training from the Chinese technical team.
- Learn and independently operate the newly installed block mill. Easy to learn
- Carry out machine start-up, operational monitoring and controlled shutdown.
- Monitor rolling speed, load, temperature, material flow and operating parameters.
- Inspect roll stands, guides, bearings, gearboxes, couplings, lubrication and cooling systems.
- Assist in roll setting, guide alignment, size changes and machine adjustments.
- Identify abnormal vibration, noise, overheating, leakage, material jamming and other operating problems.
- Respond to operating abnormalities and coordinate with mechanical and electrical maintenance teams.
- Ensure stable production, dimensional quality and minimum machine downtime.
- Maintain shift production, machine-inspection, breakdown and operating records.
- Follow all shop-floor safety and machine-operating procedures.
- Take full operational responsibility for the block mill after completing training.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- ITI, Diploma or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical, Fitter or Production trade.




- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a steel rolling mill or metal-processing plant.
- Direct experience in a block mill, finishing mill, wire-rod mill, bar mill or TMT rolling mill is strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to work directly on the shop floor; this is not an office or managerial position.
- Practical understanding of rolling stands, rolls, guides, bearings, gearboxes, couplings, hydraulics, lubrication and cooling systems.
- Able to identify operating abnormalities and support first-level troubleshooting.
- Experience with machine HMI/PLC operating screens is preferred.
- Should be willing to learn the newly installed Chinese machine and subsequently operate it independently.
- Young, energetic and willing to relocate to Luanda, Angola urgently.
- Basic English and good Hindi communication preferred.
