About the Role

We re hiring a Senior PHP/Symfony Developer for a company specializing in mission-critical aviation systems and advanced fuel management solutions. In this role, you will focus on developing and maintaining backend systems using PHP, Symfony, and PHPUnit, ensuring optimal performance across digital platforms. You will work on implementing robust, secure backend architectures that align with business requirements while maintaining reliability, maintainability, and code quality within an Agile workplace.

This is a permanent, full-time, remote role perfect for a technically driven developer who thrives in a hands-on environment, building mission-critical backend systems that support global aviation operations.

What You ll Be Doing

- Build & Run Our Products
- Collaborate across the business to understand business, commercial, and technical/testing requirements
- Provide accurate estimates for assigned tasks, involving all affected parties to maintain transparency and quality
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, providing constructive feedback to align technical solutions with business objectives and operational requirements
- Design and implement new features that align with product goals and business objectives
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with all stakeholders, including customers, product owners, and developers
- Monitor products for alerts and errors, taking swift action to resolve issues
- Deploy and monitor features in staging and production environments, ensuring stability and optimal performance
- Serve as a critical point of contact during on-call rotations, actively responding within 30 minutes to incidents that may impact aviation operations, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal disruption

- Ensure High Quality & Continuously Improve
- Establish and enforce quality standards across the team, ensuring consistent adherence
- Design, document, and implement features that meet requirements in innovative ways,



such as optimizing execution time or implementing new development techniques
- Break down complex tasks into smaller, manageable tasks (maximum of one day per task) to streamline workflow
- Propose and implement process improvements that increase quality, delivery speed, and testing efficiency
- Support the business in achieving its key objectives by ensuring submitted code, software, and applications are issue-free and meet acceptance criteria
- Ensure test coverage aligns with agreed KPIs, adjusting as needed for specific products or projects
- Conduct code reviews to verify that designs are properly implemented and coding standards are upheld
- Ensure comprehensive testing of all features to meet acceptance criteria and quality standards before initiating code reviews
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of features, ensuring all updates are accurately recorded
- Stay current with relevant technologies and libraries, proactively recommending improvements to the development process
- Implement and enforce secure coding practices (including OWASP top 10) to safeguard mission-critical aviation systems from potential vulnerabilities
- Ensure that code architecture is structured for scalability, maintainability, and ease of testing

- Provide Technical Excellence & Leadership
- Lead the breakdown of large epics or projects into actionable tasks, fostering collaboration and ensuring timely delivery
- Design and document technical solutions, including API flows, domain diagrams, and data structures
- Mentor and coach team members on best practices, such as API-first design, TDD, BDD, and DDD
- Ensure that new implementations adhere to OOP principles, refining code to enhance modularity and scalability
- Provide constructive feedback to the CoE lead regarding team dynamics, process challenges, or technical risks
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline operational processes, reducing manual effort and enhancing delivery consistency across mission-critical aviation systems
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry standards, sharing insights with the team to foster continuous learning
