EXPERTISE

Must have vast experience of making joints on different types and sizes of cables, both PVC, XLPE and paper-insulated for voltage up to 33 kV. Must be able to work with all types of jointing materials such as hot and cold compounds, conventional and heat-shrink type boxes, soldered and crimped connections, plumping of lead-sheaths and use of different types of insulating tapes, and the like. Must be able to read cable layout drawings so as to follow and locate cable routes.

Must be able to test the cables, identify the cores and do the phasing and be able to use megger, AVO meters and other instruments. Must be fully aware of the precautions for working on high-voltages and the different safety measures required to be taken before working on HT cables. Must be able to assist the Engineer in locating the faults and be aware of the various instruments used and procedures required to be followed.

Make joints on underground cables of both PVC/PILC/XLPE types/and of voltage up to 33kV. Assists in finding cable routes, locating and repairing faults so as to ensure speedy restoration of power supply
