About the Role

Greensoft Systems is looking for an experienced Blackboard Ultra Developer / LMS Specialist to design, customize, integrate, and support Blackboard Learn Ultra environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Blackboard Ultra course development, system administration, integrations, APIs, and learning technologies.

You will work with instructional designers, developers, and clients to build engaging, accessible, and scalable online learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure and administer Blackboard Learn Ultra.
- Develop and customize Blackboard Ultra courses.
- Create learning modules, assessments, assignments, discussion boards, gradebooks, and rubrics.
- Implement LTI integrations with third-party learning tools.
- Integrate Blackboard with SIS, SSO, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Zoom, Teams, and other enterprise applications.
- Develop custom integrations using REST APIs and web services.
- Troubleshoot Blackboard Ultra issues and provide technical support.
- Perform LMS upgrades, migrations, testing, and deployments.
- Ensure WCAG accessibility compliance within Blackboard courses.
- Work closely with instructional designers to improve learner experience.
- Create technical documentation and user guides.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements.

Required Skills




- 3+ years of experience working with Blackboard Learn Ultra.
- Strong knowledge of Blackboard Ultra course management.
- Experience with Blackboard REST APIs.
- Experience with LTI 1.3 Advantage integrations.
- Knowledge of Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI), SCORM, xAPI, and IMS standards.
- Experience integrating Blackboard with external applications.
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or cloud-hosted LMS environments.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Anthology Blackboard products.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2).
- Experience with Moodle, Canvas, Brightspace, or other LMS platforms.
- Experience with instructional design principles.
- Knowledge of AI-powered learning tools.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or Jira.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education Technology, or a related field.

Nice to Have
- Blackboard Learn Ultra Administrator experience.
- Blackboard implementation or migration projects.
- Experience supporting higher education institutions.
- Experience creating automated LMS workflows.
- Knowledge of eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Adobe Captivate, or iSpring.
