NimbusPost is one of India's largest shipping aggregator platforms, helping sellers across the country book, track and manage shipments across 24+ courier partners. We process millions of orders every month for sellers ranging from D2C brands to large enterprises.

Our backend powers shipment booking, allocation, tracking, billing, reverse logistics, weight reconciliation and integrations with sales channels like Shopify, WooCommerce and Amazon.

About the Role

We are looking for an SDE-2 to join our Backend Engineering team. You will work on the core systems that power shipment booking, courier allocation, tracking and seller-facing APIs used by our mobile app and partner integrations. You will work closely with senior engineers, write production-grade Node.js code, build and consume REST APIs, and own features end-to-end—from design to deployment.

This is a hands-on coding role. You will get exposure to microservices, message queues (AWS SQS), MySQL and MongoDB databases, third-party courier integrations and high-throughput production systems.

What You Will Do

- Build and maintain backend services using Node.js (Express / NestJS) in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs with proper authentication (JWT), validation and error handling.
- Work on database design and queries for MySQL (Sequelize)



and MongoDB (Mongoose).
- Integrate with third-party APIs—courier partners, payment gateways, sales channels (Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon).
- Write reusable, testable and well-documented code following the team's coding standards.
- Help build microservices and use message queues (AWS SQS, RabbitMQ) for async processing—tracking updates, webhook delivery, reconciliation jobs.
- Debug production issues, work on performance optimisations and write monitoring/log statements where needed.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning and design discussions.
- Collaborate with frontend (Flutter/Web), QA and product teams to ship features end-to-end.
- Take ownership of modules and drive features independently from design through deployment while mentoring junior engineers where required.

Must-Have Skills

- 4–6 years of professional backend development experience in Node.js.
- Strong working knowledge of Express.js—building REST APIs, middleware, routing and error handling.
- Hands-on experience with NestJS—modules, controllers, services, dependency injection and guards.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and ORMs such as Sequelize or TypeORM.




- Experience with MongoDB and Mongoose.
- Comfortable with Bitbucket—branching, pull requests and merge conflict resolution.
- Strong understanding of HTTP, REST principles, authentication (JWT/OAuth) and API security.
- Ability to design scalable backend systems and write clean, maintainable code.
- Excellent debugging, optimisation and problem-solving skills.

Valuable-to-Have Skills

- Exposure to AWS services—EC2, S3, SQS, Lambda and CloudWatch.
- Experience with message queues and event-driven architecture (SQS, Kafka or RabbitMQ).
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and inter-service communication.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and Linux.
- Experience with Redis, caching strategies and rate limiting.
- Prior experience in logistics, e-commerce, fintech or high-scale SaaS platforms.
- Understanding of secure coding practices including SQL injection prevention, XSS and CSRF mitigation.

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or related engineering discipline.
