About the Role :

Join a small, quick-moving team building our core backend from the ground up. We're looking for a Node.js engineer who can own system design end-to-end and is already comfortable using LLMs and agentic tooling to move faster as an engineer not just build features that use them.

What You'll Do :

- Build the core Node.js services and REST APIs from the ground up, designed to scale as we grow.
- Take full ownership of system design service boundaries, data flow, caching, queueing, failure handling, and scale.
- Ship features powered by AI/ML, including LLM and agentic capabilities.
- Apply LLMs and agentic tools throughout the development lifecycle from design and code generation to testing and debugging.
- Model data and tune SQL/NoSQL queries for performance; integrate with third-party platforms.
- Troubleshoot production issues, own reliability,



and set the technical bar for the team to grow into.

What You'll Bring :

- 4+ years building production-grade backend systems in Node.js for B2C products at real scale.
- Strong system design instincts you can reason through scalability, reliability, and trade-offs under real-world constraints.
- Solid fundamentals across API design, service-oriented architecture, data structures, algorithms, and clean code.
- Depth in SQL and/or NoSQL, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- An AI-native workflow you're already using LLMs and agentic approaches to work more efficiently.
- A mindset suited to small-team pace and breadth happy to pick up whatever moves the product forward.
