Job Description :-

- Handle the operations of various capacity blast furnaces
- Ensure the smooth functioning & optimization of blast furnace process by maintaining stable furnace movement and thermal regime,proper burdening, distribution and analysis of process parameters.
- Responsibilities of raw material management, process analyst for BF performance improvement, problem solving in critical situations of furnace, PCI systems, cast house etc. Safety improvement as safety captain of dept., development of ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
- leadership in achieving productivity of 3.5 thm/m3/day and PCI more than 150 kg/thm with implementation of advanced operational control philosophy.
- Driving Operations Excellence with team building for structured implementation of improvement projects in blast furnaces including digital initiatives.
- Strategy and planning with annual and monthly business plan for blast furnaces. Analysis of production and cost KPIs movement.
- ViU analysis for blast furnace raw materials and raw material selection.
- Preparation of Annual capital expenditure & Capex for Iron making
- Increased mill scale consumption up to 250kg/NS
- Used high micro fines up to 32%
- Overall responsible for Operations & maintenance of Iron Making Units.
- Responsible to deliver the Key Results in Safety, Production, Quality, cost & Workplace.
- Provide Directions to next level Managers in Planning and executing in the assigned activities.
- Work with managers to support new Projects, developments & Modifications.
- Developing best practices in achieving the organizational goals.
- Provide the resources to the all levels of employees.
- Analyses the all raw material quality and decision making in the raw material receipt in concern of the End product requirements.
- Coordination with the Top management, Iron complex, Procurement, Accounts department to manage the necessary resources to the department.
- Building team work among the all departments to achieve results consistently.




- Handled BF production team from planning to delivering planned performance.
- Thorough knowledge in optimization of fuel rate and maximization of Blast Furnace productivity through PCI, Oxygen enrichment, Cast House practices, screening efficiency of raw materials.
- Close and healthy coordination with service teams i.e., Mechanical, E&I;, etc.

Experience in SAP, data management and analytical kills

Overseeing the Operations of the Iron Making Division :-

- Review and track the various parameters related to the operations at MBF 1,2 and 3, Sinter Plants, Crushing, PCI & COD to ensure maximum production volumes are achieved at least possible costs
- Be responsible to ensure quality standards are maintained in all activities in the Iron Making division, resulting in high customer satisfaction is achieved
- Develop necessary procedures to ensure that the Plant, equipment and resources are effectively utilized to ensure maximum production efficiency
- Identify the risks and challenges (current and emerging) across the Iron Making division and address them at the earliest with inputs for the Heads of Department of the MBF and Sinter plants.
- Ensure stabilization of key equipments and operations (e.g. stabilization of the furnace) to ensure smooth operations.

Raw Material Planning, Selection and Handling : -

- Plan for the quantity and specifications of Iron Ore and Coke to ensure continuous supply in line with the business plan
- Analyze the details and specifications submitted by vendors for Iron Ore and Coke in detail and be responsible for selection of the most suitable source considering the stock of material





Lead Coordination and Interaction with other Departments :-

- Collaborate with the senior management on various operational and developmental activities to ensure seamless planning and execution
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Department for planning shutdown and major repair works in Iron Making Division, related to Mechanical and Electrical maintenance
- Provide insights and guidance to other functions in case of any issue and problems faced by them, and also seek their support towards addressing any issues related to Iron Making division.

New Initiatives and Continuous Improvements :-

- Drive innovation, new technology / process implementation that will result in improvement of productivity, quality and reduction in costs for the Iron Making division. This includes planning, monitoring and leading key projects towards implementation of new technology.
- Ensure implementation of TPM, QMS, EMS and OHSAS.
- Initiate projects and initiatives for continual improvement under Kaizens, TPM, etc aimed at enhancing overall productivity, yield, quality and reduction in cost.
- Ensure cost reduction by initiating new processes and procedures in order to ensure process development.
- Responsible for driving JH activities throughout the plant.

MIS and Reporting :-

- Review and verify the reports generated by the team.
- Perform a detailed analysis on the reports generated and present it to the top management by way of presentations.
- Update the top management on the activities carried out and the issues occurred at the plant.
- Daily meetings with the team on the agenda for the day.
- Benchmarking of performance wrt process parameter and cost of operation.
