JOB SUMMARY :
We are seeking an experienced OTA Integration Expert to support the development and integration of Over-the-Air (OTA) software update solutions using eSync in a connected vehicle / Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) environment.
The role involves working closely with OEM engineering teams, Tier-1 suppliers, cloud backend teams, and vehicle ECU developers to ensure seamless end-to-end OTA functionality from cloud to vehicle ECUs.
The candidate will be responsible for integrating OTA client components, validating vehicle-cloud communication, supporting ECU onboarding for OTA updates, and troubleshooting integration issues across the vehicle platform. The role requires strong expertise in automotive ECU architecture, OTA workflows, embedded systems, and multi-vendor system integration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Integrate eSync OTA client/agent across vehicle ECUs such as TCU, Head Unit (IVI), Gateway, and other domain controllers.
- Support OEM teams in aligning OTA architecture with the vehicle electrical/electronic architecture.
- Define OTA integration approaches for different ECU types (application update, firmware update, containerized updates, etc.).
ECU Onboarding for OTA
- Support Tier-1 suppliers in integrating OTA client components into ECUs.
- Validate OTA package installation workflows and manifest handling.
- Enable software inventory reporting and ECU update capability.
VehicleCloud OTA Interface Validation
- Validate communication between vehicle OTA client and backend OTA platform.
- Verify flows such as: Device registration , Secure authentication ,Package download
- Installation status reporting
- Work with backend teams to validate API interactions and OTA campaign execution.
End-to-End OTA Testing
- Execute system-level OTA validation across vehicle prototypes and test benches.
- Validate scenarios such as:
- Full vehicle update
- Partial ECU updates
- Update interruption recovery
- Rollback and error handling
- Support HIL / bench / vehicle validation environments.
Issue Investigation and Debugging
- Analyze and troubleshoot OTA failures across:
- OTA client/agent
- ECU flashing processes
- network connectivity
- backend APIs
- package signing and validation
- Perform log analysis and root cause investigation.
Multi-Vendor Integration Coordination
- Collaborate with OEM platform teams, Tier-1 suppliers, OTA backend teams, cybersecurity teams, and validation teams.
- Identify and resolve integration dependencies and blockers.
- Track OTA readiness across ECUs and suppliers.
Documentation and Integration Guidance
- Prepare and maintain:
- OTA integration guidelines
- ECU onboarding documentation
- troubleshooting playbooks
- architecture documentation
- Support knowledge sharing across development and validation teams.
Must have
- 8-12 years of experience in automotive software integration or embedded systems.
- Strong experience in OTA update systems, preferably using eSync or similar OTA frameworks.
- Positive understanding of automotive ECU architecture and vehicle network systems.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN and Automotive Ethernet.
- Familiarity with UDS diagnostics and ECU flashing mechanisms.
- Strong experience in embedded Linux environments.
- Experience analyzing system logs and performing root cause analysis.
- Good understanding of REST APIs and client-server communication.
- Experience working in multi-supplier automotive integration environments.
- Strong debugging and system integration skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with connected vehicle platforms or SDV architectures.
- Familiarity with OTA backend platforms and campaign management systems.
- Understanding of automotive cybersecurity concepts such as certificates, TLS, and secure software updates.
- Experience with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and OTA deployment processes.
- Exposure to vehicle test benches, HIL systems, or integration labs.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash for debugging and automation.
- Experience working directly with OEM engineering teams and Tier-1 suppliers.
