Mission of the Role: Senior Technical Artist is aspecialized professional who combines artistic and technical skills to solvecomplex problems in the fields of 2D 3D GUI, animations, and visualeffects. They bridge the gap between creative designers and developers, ensuringthat the creative vision is implemented effectively in a technical environment.This position will focus on leveraging the knowledge of software, programminglanguages and technical tools to troubleshoot and optimize the assets, workingclosely with designers and developers to convert the creative vision withoutlosing the design intent. The range of products in scope are InstrumentClusters, Head-Up Displays, and Infotainment systems.

Key Objectives of this Role:

- Responsible for the implementation and optimization of UI Design related projects or aspects of the projects in defined scene composers.
- Assure high visual quality and performance on the target hardware, by smart application and combination of tools and skills.
- High independent communication with internal teams and external partners and customers.
- Close collaboration with other Technical Artists, UI Designers and Graphic Engineers within the global design team and customer peers.
- Support UI designers on asset setup, create and/or customize assets to fit defined implementation strategy.
- Write performance optimized shaders in defined languages (e.g. GLSL) for materials, behavior and animations of graphical elements.
- Support the integration of pre-defined plug-ins, materials, and effects from VFX library with support of more experienced Technical Artists and Graphic Engineers.
- Work within defined toolchains and processes and focus on continuous improvements of the workflow
- Grow and maintain effective partnerships with internal and customer UI Design groups
- Asset Planning Delivery support for Lead Designer through JIRA
- Mentor Junior Technical Artists
- Documentation for best practices.

Key Year One Deliverables:

- Roadmap Development: Define and document strategy roadmap with company objectives for the next 13 years
- Design System Contribution: Establish or enhance a scalable design system to promote consistency and efficiency
- Deliver technical solutions for assigned projects, validated by performance testing
- Participation in all Customer meetings related to role and define the scope with action points
- Mentor at least one Junior Technical Artist
- Learning and adoption of Visteon JIRA - Agile project management toolchain.

Qualification, Experience and Skills:

- 5-8 years of working experience as a technical artist in the gaming industry, user interface or preferably the automotive area
- - Expert skills with scene composers or gaming enginelike Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, KANZi, QT, CGI Studio, EB Guide, Altia or similar tools.
- Solid expertise in Blender Godot is advantageous
- Expert skills in After Effects for motion graphics with Good Knowledge of Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator etc.) is must Working experience with RIVE is advantageous
- Furthermore, good knowledge in 3D poly modelling, texturing and animation would be required
- Scripting in C# for custom behavior definition will be advantageous
- Strong knowledge in shader coding (e.g. GLSL) and graphic languages, like OpenGL will be advantageous
- Affinity to new graphic rendering tools and languages, as well as technologies and willingness to apply these in the automotive context
- Experience with JIRA is advantageous
- Formal communication skills, including written, verbal in English is must
- Communication skills in Japanese language will be advantageous
- Familiarity with 4-wheeler driving acquaintance with vehicle interior controls will be highly advantageous.
