Role Description This is a full time Australian Accountant role based in Bengaluru, structured as a hybrid position with a mix of office-based work and some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves preparing and reviewing Australian financial statements and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian tax legislation and accounting standards.

Daily responsibilities include reconciling accounts, managing ledgers, reviewing source documents, and supporting tax planning activities. The accountant will communicate with internal stakeholders and, where applicable, clients to clarify information, respond to queries, and provide clear explanations of tax outcomes.



The role also includes maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Australian tax law changes, assisting with compliance deadlines, supporting process improvements, and contributing to a consistent, high-quality client service experience.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements, and relevant Australian financial reporting standards.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing Australian tax returns and BAS/IAS, including individual, business, and investment structures.
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar), and solid skills in Microsoft Excel and other office applications.
- Ability to analyze financial data, reconcile accounts, identify variances, and produce accurate work within deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and tax concepts clearly to non-specialists.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; additional Australian tax or professional qualifications (e.g., CA/CPA or in progress) are beneficial.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Bengaluru, showing reliability, self-motivation, and a collaborative approach to team-based work.
