About The Role As a member of Qualcomm’s Audio Systems Group, you will be at the forefront of automotive audio, voice AI, and multimedia technology development. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing advanced audio and speech solutions tailored for automotive platforms.

You will work on cutting-edge projects involving Android Automotive OS, hypervisor-based systems, and multi-domain architectures, contributing to the deployment of next-generation audio solutions on Snapdragon platforms.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams, including R&D;, system integration, and OEM partners, to deliver innovative automotive audio experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of in-car entertainment and voice interaction systems, ensuring seamless user experiences across diverse automotive environments.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in audio software design,



with hands-on experience in developing and debugging audio solutions across hardware and software interfaces. Proficiency in embedded C/C++ and Python programming languages is essential.

Candidates should have experience working with Android Audio Framework components such as Audio HAL, AudioFlinger, and AAudio, along with familiarity with automotive middleware and OS integration. Exposure to hypervisor-based system architectures, virtualization concepts, and embedded platforms—including DSP architectures, real-time operating systems, and multi-threaded design—is highly desirable. A background in fixed-point and floating-point implementations, along with expertise in audio system validation and performance optimization, will be advantageous.

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, or related fields is required, with a Master’s or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for creating, prototyping, and commercializing innovative automotive audio solutions. Your tasks will include designing and developing comprehensive audio systems within Automotive software stacks, including Android Automotive OS and middleware components.

You will develop and integrate core audio components such as Audio HAL, AudioFlinger, and other Android audio framework elements, ensuring optimal performance and robustness. Addressing complex use cases like audio virtualization, multi-zone audio, and cabin-specific audio configurations will be a key aspect of your work. Additionally, you will develop solutions for hypervisor-based multi-OS environments,



such as co-existence of Android and RTOS.

Performance analysis and validation of audio subsystems for latency, power consumption, and reliability on embedded platforms will be integral to your responsibilities. You will also implement, test, and debug audio pipelines across DSP, CPU, and heterogeneous compute platforms. Collaboration with R&D;, system integration, and OEM teams to support automotive productization and demo prototyping of audio infotainment use cases will be essential to your success.
