Role Description The Astronomy Educator will deliver engaging, curriculum-based astronomy and space science sessions to school students and other audiences through interactive classes, workshops, and hands-on demonstrations. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting lessons, operating basic astronomy equipment (such as telescopes), organizing sky-watching sessions and science activities, and adapting teaching materials to suit different age groups and learning levels.
The educator will also support outreach events, coordinate with school staff and program partners, maintain accurate records of sessions, and contribute feedback to improve educational content and learning outcomes.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Dwarka, requiring regular presence at the assigned center and occasional travel for events or school programs. Qualifications
Robust foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience delivering science or astronomy-related concepts to diverse age groups.
Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training, including designing structured sessions, activities, and assessments that meet learning objectives.
Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex scientific ideas in an accessible and engaging manner.
Bachelor’s degree in science, education, astronomy, physics, or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in science education are an advantage.
Interest in astronomy and space science, with willingness to learn and use telescopes, models, and digital tools for demonstrations.
Comfort working on-site with students and school staff in Dwarka, with strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexibly for special events, workshops, and outreach programs; prior experience in STEM outreach or informal science education is beneficial.
