Role Title: Associate Engineer – Legacy QMS Maintenance

Salary Range: INR 55,000- 60,000/- p.m Ownership & Ownership Mindset Requirement: Maintaining core production applications requires high responsibility and meticulous care. In this role, you will hold complete operational ownership of the legacy Queue Management System (QMS). You will be accountable for keeping business operations running smoothly, fixing production bugs promptly, refactoring legacy code into shared components, and ensuring uninterrupted uptime across hardware integrations.

Role Overview & System Context The legacy Queue Management System (QMS) powers critical operational workflows. As an Associate Engineer (Legacy QMS Maintenance), you will debug, maintain, and stabilize the QMS platform. In addition, you will assist in identifying reusable core business logic and extracting it into shared modular libraries to support broader system integration efforts.

Key Responsibilities Legacy Application Maintenance: Diagnose, debug, and patch issues in the existing monolithic QMS codebase to ensure peak stability and continuous operation.

Database Administration & Tuning: Maintain legacy relational database schemas, write and optimize SQL queries, and manage data maintenance scripts strictly using MySQL and Oracle databases.

Code Refactoring & Shared Libraries:



Identify reusable core business logic and refactor monolithic functions into modular, shared libraries.

Hardware & Device Integration: Support hardware-dependent components (wired network terminals,

printers, display units) and maintain secure client-server connectivity.

End-to-End Bug Resolution: Take accountability for full-stack maintenance across backend logic (Java/SQL) and legacy UI components with strict testing.

Required Technical

Qualifications & Experience Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in software development, production support, or system maintenance.

Backend & SQL Foundations: Strong proficiency in Java, relational databases (specifically MySQL and Oracle), SQL scripting, and database optimization.

Legacy System Refactoring: Experience working with monolithic application structures, REST/SOAP services, and modularizing legacy business logic.

Hardware & Network Basics: Familiarity with TCP/IP network protocols and device communication used in physical QMS deployments.

Desirable

Skills (Good to Know) Modern Cloud & Containerization: Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure cloud ecosystems, or modern CI/CD pipelines.

Modern Frontend Frameworks: Basic familiarity with Angular or TypeScript for future interface modernizations.
