In Association with Sparsh Hospital, Bengaluru, India Company Description

This role will be working with Dr Arvind Bhateja's Neurosurgery Dept at SPARSH Hospital, Bengaluru, India. SPARSH has an unsurpassed reputation in Karnataka for its innovation and specialised delivery of healthcare services.

Who we are and where we stand today is a direct result of the dedication, hard work, and determination of our team of committed doctors, nurses and staff. We, at SPARSH Hospital, constantly encourage our team to innovate and think outside the box. Role

Associate Associate Consultant — Neurosurgery

Location: SPARSH Hospital, Bengaluru, Karnataka (on-site)

Experience: 5–7 years post-MCh/DNB

Type: Full time, permanent About the Role

We are hiring a full-time Associate Consultant to join the Neurosurgery department at SPARSH Hospital, Bengaluru. This is a permanent consultant position with a high-volume, broad-spectrum caseload — cranial and spinal, elective and emergency.

Alongside the hospital's regular practice, you will treat patients whose surgery is funded by GivingBack: people who need neurosurgical care and cannot pay for it. That work is part of the job, not an add-on to it.

The department covers neuro-oncology, neurotrauma, complex and degenerative spine, neurovascular, CSF disorders, peripheral nerve, and functional neurosurgery. You will operate across subspecialties rather than in a narrow niche, with senior faculty available for complex cases. Key Responsibilities

Independently manage cranial and spinal cases end-to-end: assessment, surgical planning, operating,

and post-operative care

Perform surgery for brain and spine tumours (supratentorial, infratentorial, skull base), including cases requiring intraoperative neuromonitoring for motor and speech function

Manage acute and chronic traumatic brain, spine, and peripheral nerve injury, including emergency decompressive procedures

Treat degenerative spine disease, with minimally invasive technique where indicated

Manage CSF disorders — hydrocephalus, Chiari malformation, NPH, idiopathic intracranial hypertension — including endoscopic and navigation-guided approaches

Contribute to neurovascular work (aneurysms, cerebral revascularisation) and functional/epilepsy surgery alongside senior faculty

Run outpatient clinics and take part in the emergency and on-call roster

Supervise and teach residents; participate in departmental audit, morbidity and mortality review, and journal club

Work with the GivingBack team to identify eligible patients, document clinical need, and report outcomes on funded cases Required Qualifications

MBBS from a recognised institution

MCh (Neurosurgery) or DNB (Neurosurgery) from a recognised institution

Valid NMC registration and eligibility for Karnataka Medical Council registration

5–7 years of post-MCh/DNB neurosurgical practice

Demonstrated independent operative experience across cranial and spinal caseloads

Certification or documented competence in advanced neurotrauma management What Will Set You Apart

Training from a high-volume tertiary centre (NIMHANS, AIIMS, SCTIMST, PGIMER, or equivalent)

Subspecialty depth in neurotrauma, neuro-oncology, peripheral nerve, or complex spine

Publication record in peer-reviewed neurosurgical journals; involvement in clinical trials or multicentre research

Hands-on experience with neuronavigation, neuroendoscopy, and intraoperative neuromonitoring

Prior work in public health, government, or NGO-funded surgical programmes

Fluency in English plus Kannada and/or Hindi — most of our subsidised patients speak one of the two What We Offer A full consultant caseload from day one, not an assisting role A full neurosurgical suite: neuronavigation, intraoperative monitoring, dedicated neuro ICU, 24/7 imaging, owned by GivingBack and operated by SPARSH

Mentorship from Dr Arvind Bhateja and the senior neurosurgery faculty

Support for academic output like publications, conference presentations, research collaboration

Competitive compensation and long-term growth within a leading multi-hospital group

Work that reaches patients who would otherwise go untreated To Apply

Send your CV and a summary of your operative log (case volume by category over the last three years).
