The role

Teach mathematics across B.Sc., and support quantitative papers in other programmes where departmental need requires. Under NEP 2020, mathematics is taken both as a major subject and as a supporting subject by students in other streams — you will teach both audiences, which are not the same classroom.

Full-time, in office at Babatpur, Varanasi.

Responsibilities Subject teaching

Teach core UG mathematics: calculus (differential and integral), algebra (abstract and linear), real and complex analysis, differential equations, and coordinate geometry

Teach applied papers: numerical methods, mathematical statistics and probability, discrete mathematics, mechanics, and operations research where offered

Run computational practicals — mathematical software, spreadsheets, or programming-based numerical work

Support quantitative and statistical teaching for BCA, BBA and B.Com students where the syllabus requires

Mentor students toward competitive examinations where mathematics is decisive — SSC, banking, NDA, and the UPSC/UPPSC mathematics optional Curriculum, assessment and department

Design and update course content to MGKVP syllabi under the NEP 2020 framework

Set and evaluate internal assessments aligned to MGKVP examination patterns

Maintain computational and teaching resources and practical records

Mentor students on higher study pathways — M.Sc., PhD, and research careers





Contribute to departmental research output and to institutional academic and co-curricular activity Qualifications Essential

M.Sc. Mathematics from a UGC-recognised university

UGC NET or PhD in Mathematics — required for this appointment

Ability to teach at undergraduate level and to run computational practicals

Fluency in Hindi and English — students come largely from Purvanchal and Bihar, and teaching is bilingual

Willingness to teach under the NEP 2020 multidisciplinary structure, where students combine subjects across streams Preferred

Prior UG teaching, particularly under a university syllabus framework

Competence with MATLAB, Python, R, SciLab, or Mathematica for computational teaching

Familiarity with the NEP 2020 multidisciplinary mathematics structure

Publications, or experience guiding student projects

Experience coaching for competitive mathematics Remuneration
