Function: Business Technology
Role Type: Hands-on individual contributor with project and stakeholder leadership responsibilities About the Role
We are seeking a business-focused technology professional to identify, define, and deliver automation and AI solutions across a large, process-intensive global organization.
This is primarily a business analysis and solution delivery role, not a software development or infrastructure management position. The successful candidate will evaluate existing processes and technology solutions, identify automation opportunities, develop detailed use cases and business requirements, and work with internal technology teams and external vendors to implement measurable solutions.
The role will cover robotic process automation, workflow automation, artificial intelligence, intelligent document processing, analytics, and related emerging technologies.
The individual will initially work hands-on across the complete solution lifecycle and will have the opportunity to play a foundational role in building the organization’s automation and AI capability.
Key Responsibilities Business Analysis and Process Discovery
Conduct structured discovery sessions with business leaders, process owners, and operational teams.
Document current-state processes using process maps, SIPOC, value-stream maps, user journeys, and related business analysis techniques.
Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, manual interventions, and opportunities for automation.
Translate business problems into clearly defined functional and non-functional requirements.
Prepare business requirements documents, functional specifications, process definition documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices.
Assess process suitability and readiness for RPA, workflow automation, AI, or other technology interventions. Automation and AI Use-Case Development
Review existing RPA, workflow, analytics, and AI solutions to evaluate effectiveness, adoption, control, and business value.
Build and maintain a structured pipeline of automation and AI opportunities.
Develop detailed use cases covering the business problem, proposed solution, users, data requirements, expected advantages, risks, controls, and implementation considerations.
Evaluate potential applications of generative AI, machine learning, intelligent document processing, and agentic or workflow-based solutions.
Develop business cases incorporating effort, cost, benefits, risk, ROI, capacity released, quality improvement, and implementation feasibility.
Prioritize use cases using transparent value, complexity, risk, and readiness criteria.
Solution
Design and Delivery
Work with enterprise technology teams, developers, solution architects, information security, data teams, and external vendors.
Ensure that proposed solutions accurately reflect business requirements and operating realities.
Support solution design, prototyping, testing, user acceptance, implementation, and stabilization.
Coordinate issue resolution across business and technology stakeholders.
Ensure appropriate controls, exception handling, audit trails, privacy requirements, and operational ownership are built into solutions.
Support vendor evaluation, solution demonstrations, proof-of-concept exercises, and commercial assessments.
Benefits Realization and Governance
Define measurable success criteria before development begins.
Track delivery milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions, and benefits.
Monitor adoption, utilization, accuracy, productivity, cycle-time reduction, quality improvement, and return on investment.
Conduct post-implementation reviews and recommend improvements.
Maintain automation inventories, use-case registers, benefits trackers, and executive dashboards.
Develop reusable templates, standards, and governance mechanisms for automation and AI initiatives. Stakeholder and Change Management
Present complex technology concepts in clear business language.
Facilitate workshops involving senior leaders, operational managers, subject-matter experts, and technology teams.
Support user communication, training, adoption, and change-management activities.
Develop credibility as a trusted interface between business operations and technology delivery teams.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Operations, or a related discipline.
7 to 10 years of experience in business analysis, process transformation, automation consulting, digital transformation, or technology-enabled operations.
At least 4 years of substantive experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
Demonstrated experience developing business requirements documents, functional specifications, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business cases.
Practical experience with RPA, workflow automation, intelligent document processing, AI solutions, or related transformation initiatives.
Experience working with technology development teams or vendors through the solution lifecycle.
Strong process analysis, problem-solving, facilitation, and documentation skills.
Ability to quantify business benefits and develop credible ROI assessments.
Strong written communication, executive presentation, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
Preferred
Qualifications
CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Scrum, Agile, or equivalent certification.
Experience with platforms such as UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, ServiceNow, Appian, or similar technologies.
Exposure to generative AI, machine learning, prompt-based solutions, AI governance, or intelligent document processing.
Experience in global capability centres, professional services, shared services, legal services, financial services, healthcare, or other process-intensive environments.
Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, process-mining tools, APIs, or data integration concepts.
Experience preparing RFPs, evaluating vendors, or managing proofs of concept.
The Profile We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is not merely a project coordinator and is not expected to be the primary software developer. The candidate should be able to independently analyse a complex business process, determine whether technology can improve it, specify the required solution professionally, and work with technical specialists to deliver it.
