Assistant General Manager Supply Chain
Position Purpose To lead and optimize the end-to-end supply chain operations by ensuring uninterrupted availability of raw materials, intermediate processed materials, and finished goods through effective planning, vendor management, job work coordination, logistics, inventory optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. The role is primarily responsible for ensuring timely supply of intermediate materials from job workers to support production schedules and customer commitments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Job Work Supply Chain Management (Primary Responsibility)
Ensure Timely Availability of Intermediate Materials
- Develop and implement robust systems for monitoring movement of materials to and from job workers.
- Prepare weekly and daily dispatch plans for materials sent for outsourcing.
- Ensure processed intermediate materials are received as per production requirements.
- Monitor adherence to committed delivery schedules by job workers.
- Identify delays proactively and initiate corrective actions.
- Coordinate with production planning to prioritize critical components.
- Maintain zero line stoppage due to delayed job work supplies.
- Track aging of materials lying at job workers.
- Ensure FIFO compliance wherever applicable.
- Expedite urgent deliveries through alternate transportation arrangements.
- Review pending job work orders daily.
Job Worker Performance Management
