Role: Applied AI ML Lead- AI Engineer

Experience

- 5 years applied experience in AI/ML engineering

- Advanced proficiency in Python

- Modern software engineering practices including testing, design patterns, code review, and version control

- Hands-on experience building, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models into production

- Practical experience with Large Language Models

- Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, and agentic frameworks

- Practical experience with CI/CD, containerisation, and cloud-native deployment patterns

- Demonstrated experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for ML or data-intensive systems

- Strong communication skills for engaging senior business stakeholders and non-technical audiences

- Experience applying new methods to solve complex technology problems across multiple technical disciplines

Qualification

- Formal training or certification on AI/ML engineering concepts

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field

- Equivalent applied experience

Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end delivery of priority IPB AI/ML use cases from problem framing and business case through production services





- Lead the engineering build of agentic AI and LLM-powered products for IPB advisors and clients

- Set the engineering quality bar through code reviews, technical design, and pairing with peers and junior engineers

- Act as a primary technical partner to business stakeholders and shape AI/ML opportunities into funded workstreams

- Represent the AIML team in firm-wide AI/ML governance and engineering forums

- Ensure cross-border, regulatory, and data-privacy considerations are reflected in solution design

- Contribute to the team's GenAI education programme through training content, knowledge-sharing sessions, and mentoring

Additional Responsibilities

- Establish and operate Responsible AI controls in production, including guardrails, evaluation frameworks, observability, and model risk controls

- Surface new AI/ML opportunities for IPB business stakeholders

Nice To Have

- Industry-recognised cloud or GenAI certification such as AWS Certified Generative AI Developer - Skilled or similar

- Experience within financial services technology, particularly wealth, private banking, or asset management

- Experience with Databricks

- Experience with Kubernetes

- Experience designing or contributing to AI governance, model validation, or guardrail frameworks

- Familiarity with JPM-internal AI/ML infrastructure and governance for internal candidates
