Zastra serves as the authorized representative in India for several leading software providers, including Alva Science, Biovia, CDD Vault, CompuTherm, Cresset Group, and GraphPad. Through these solutions and partnerships, Zastra supports pharmaceutical, automotive, oil, electronics, steel, manufacturing companies, research labs, and universities in pushing the boundaries of scientific discovery.

Role Description The Application Scientist (Metallurgy) will support customers and internal teams in the effective use of metallurgical and materials-focused computational software. This full-time, on-site role in India involves conducting product demonstrations, training sessions, and technical consultations for industry and academic users.

The role includes interpreting customer requirements, proposing suitable software solutions, and assisting in workflow design for materials development and process optimization.

The Application

Scientist will prepare technical documentation, application notes, and case studies, collaborate with sales teams on pre- and post-sales support,



and provide feedback to development partners on product enhancements. Regular interaction with cross-functional teams and participation in conferences, workshops, and webinars is expected to strengthen Zastra’s presence in the metallurgy and materials science community.

Qualifications

- Robust foundation in Metallurgy or related engineering disciplines, with experience in materials design, characterization, and process optimization.
- Proficiency in computational tools and simulation software relevant to thermodynamics, phase diagrams, and materials modelling; familiarity with CompuTherm or similar platforms is an advantage.
- Ability to analyse experimental and simulation data, prepare technical reports, and translate complex concepts into clear, practical guidance for users.
- Effective communication and presentation skills for training sessions, product demonstrations, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Customer-centric mindset with problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
- Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field; prior experience in industrial or research settings is beneficial.
- Willingness to work on-site, travel within India for client visits, workshops, and conferences, and engage actively with the scientific and industrial community.
