Position: Anchor

Location: Chandigarh University, Gharuan, Mohali, Punjab

Job Summary:

Chandigarh University is seeking a dynamic, confident, and energetic Anchor to host and manage university events, academic ceremonies, cultural programs, conferences, seminars, celebrity interactions, and official functions. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional communication skills, a robust stage presence, and the ability to engage diverse audiences while maintaining professionalism and the University's brand image.

Key Responsibilities:

Host university events including academic ceremonies, cultural festivals, conferences, workshops, seminars, convocations, guest lectures, and official functions.

Prepare event scripts, introductions, announcements, and stage cues in coordination with event organizers.

Engage audiences with confidence, enthusiasm, and professionalism throughout the event.

Coordinate closely with event managers, production teams, technical staff, and protocol teams to ensure smooth stage operations.

Manage event flow by introducing speakers, moderating panel discussions, facilitating Q&A; sessions, and making important announcements.





Handle unexpected situations on stage calmly while ensuring continuity of the program.

Maintain proper pronunciation, timing, and event etiquette during all official functions.

Represent Chandigarh University during external events, media engagements, promotional campaigns, and institutional celebrations when required.

Ensure high standards of professionalism, grooming, and presentation at all times.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Media Studies, Performing Arts, or a related field.

Master's degree is preferred.

Professional training in anchoring, public speaking, theatre, or voice modulation will be an added advantage.

Experience:

2–5 years of experience as an Anchor, Master of Ceremonies (MC), Event Host, Radio Jockey, Television Presenter, or Corporate Event Host.

Experience hosting large-scale institutional, educational, corporate, or public events is preferred.
