Description

AI Engineer role for a pre-launch AI-powered customer intelligence product focused on decisioning for WhatsApp commerce. The position is for an early founding engineer working on product surfaces, AI strategy, validation, and evaluation.

Location: Mumbai — Chembur / Govandi. In-office, 5 days a week.

Experience

- 2–3 years

- Strong Python

- Enough React/TypeScript to build internal-grade interfaces

- Personal/side projects demonstrating AI use and agentic AI orchestration

- Shipped an LLM feature to production

- Experience with structured output enforcement, retry-on-validation-failure, and cost accounting

- Experience with 0→1 product work and ownership of product decisions

Responsibilities

- Own the product surfaces, including retention dashboard, briefing flow, approval queues, and operator view

- Build the AI strategy layer that turns a marketer brief and customer-base statistics into reviewable strategies

- Ensure the validator blocks invalid outputs before caching or sending

- Create the eval harness with golden test briefs, regression checks, expected-shape assertions, and per-call cost logging

- Build the content system for human-approved customer messaging

- Implement reply handling with a classifier for purchase intent, question, complaint, and opt-out





- Make the system legible to marketers using the software

Additional Responsibilities

- Build a dashboard with a view per persona

- Design a flow where a marketer delegates an outcome and approves system proposals

- Create an audit view that explains why a customer received a specific message

- Work over population statistics rather than individual customer records

- Produce a prototype convincing enough to turn interested brands into signed partners

- Own the target that 80% of system proposals are approved without edits

- Develop tooling that keeps the human review workflow quick

- Work in a setup with two founders and one other engineer, with direction on outcomes and near-total freedom on implementation
