Role Description The Advocate will work on-site in Kotwali in a full-time capacity, supporting SMC Group’s legal and compliance function. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and vetting legal documents, agreements, and contracts related to financial services and corporate activities. The Advocate will provide legal opinions, support dispute resolution, and assist in handling litigation, liaisoning with external counsel and relevant authorities as needed.

They will monitor regulatory developments impacting securities, financing, and related services,



and help ensure that internal policies and procedures align with applicable laws and regulations. The role also includes maintaining accurate legal records, collaborating with business teams to mitigate legal risks, and contributing to training or guidance on legal and compliance matters.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of corporate, securities, and financial services law, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations and guidelines.

Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, legal notices, and other legal documentation.

Proven ability to conduct legal research, analyze case law and statutes, and prepare clear, concise legal opinions.

Effective communication and advocacy skills, including the ability to coordinate with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and regulatory bodies.

Attention to detail, sound judgment, and a structured approach to managing multiple matters and deadlines.

Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B); enrollment with a recognized Bar Council and relevant skilled licenses as required.

Prior experience in a financial services, brokerage, or corporate legal environment is preferred.
