Description
Responsible for the QHSE activities and regulatory requirements and their implementation. The manager shall direct and coordinate Quality, Health, Safety & Workplace activities as directed by the Regional QHSE Manager.
- Maintain and enhance QHSE systems in alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and API Q1 &2 standards.
- Lead risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies across operational activities.
- Conduct internal audits and deliver QHSE training to ensure continuous compliance.
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and present QHSE reports to senior management, integrating best practices across all departments.
- Support a unified Nabors QHSE approach across Machine Shop, Drilling, Fishing, and TRS operations.
Responsibilities
- It is expected that the QHSE Manager will play a lead or integral role during the area QHSE planning, development and implementation activities as required by the customers (internal and external).
- Planning and development of QHSE Goals & Objectives for Nabors.
- Ensure integration of Client and QHSE personnel interfaces as a primary objective.
- Perform QHSE audits on rigs and equipment to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Integrate internal and external reporting according to established Nabors, Client and local governmental system requirements.
- Consulting with various departments and parties with respect to QHSE requirements of Nabors, Client and various government agencies having jurisdiction over the operating areas.
- Definition of HSE requirements for all parties involved in the project development. Planning and development of operational training systems and procedures for personnel.
- Planning of QHSE Internal Auditing program.
- Coordination in establishment of specifications, evaluation, recommendation and procurement for products and services related to QHSE. e.g. H2S/Gas Detection and Breathing Air Services. Medical Support Services. Fire and Gas detection and prevention products and services. Spill response products and services, etc.
- Creation of Evacuation & Emergency Procedures and Measures.
- Representation of both management and the work force in various committees and meetings making up the QHSE communications system.
- Attainment of objectives; effectiveness and efficiency of work by directly subordinate employees.
- Provide Nabors Quality Systems expert activity.
- Operational Phase Administer Nabors' SMART Program Implement and train Evacuation & Emergency Procedures and Measures.
- Implement internal and external reporting according to established CLIENT, NDIL and local system requirements.
- Ensure that training and induction of all parties on Nabors rigs is completed.
- Train all Nabors and associated sub-contractors on the QHSE Goals & Objectives /Plan.
- Implement operational training systems and procedures for personnel associated with Nabors.
- Coordinate and conduct QHSE Internal Auditing program.
- Ensure successful implementation of products and services related to QHSE for Nabors.
- Continuously evaluate products and services related to HSE for Nabors.
- Coordination in procurement and establishment of specifications for future products and services related to QHSE.
- Representation of both management and the work force in various committees and meetings making up the QHSE communications system.
- Adherence to guidelines.
- Information to management on accidents/incidents in a timely manner according to procedures.
- Direction of and maintenance of accident/incident data and QHSE performance statistics and reporting to appropriate parties on regular schedule.
- Preparation and release of Safety Alerts and other information dissemination relating to QHSE.
- Review, revision, document control and release of documents relating to QHSE procedures and policies.
- Consultation with drilling operations in matters relating to QHSE.
- Consultation with outside experts on QHSE matters when required.
- Attainment of objectives; effectiveness and efficiency of work by directly subordinate employees
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in safety profession
- Computer competence required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write in depth reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
