Job Title: Assistant Manager Engineering & Application (BESS Manufacturing)

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager Engineering & Application will be responsible for design, application engineering, and manufacturing coordination for utility-scale and C&I; BESS systems.

Key Responsibilities 1. Engineering & Design

- Prepare BESS system design (Battery, PCS, EMS)
- Develop SLDs, GA drawings, and protection schemes
- Coordinate with OEMs for battery, PCS, and auxiliary systems

2. Application Engineering

- Perform system sizing (MW/MWh, C-rate, duty cycles)
- Prepare technical proposals and datasheets

3. Manufacturing Line Support

- Support grid applications (peak shaving, frequency regulation)
- Support 3 GWh manufacturing line activities
- Assist in SOPs, FAT procedures, and quality checks
- Ensure alignment between design and manufacturing

4. Testing & Commissioning

- Support FAT/SAT and commissioning activities
- Analyze system performance

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work with EPC, procurement, and project teams
- Interface with clients and consultants

Required Skills & Knowledge Technical Skills

- Robust understanding of:
- BESS architecture (Battery + PCS + EMS)
- Power systems and grid integration

- Knowledge of:





- PCS control modes (PQ, V/f, Grid-forming)
- Battery technologies (LFP preferred)

Certifications & Compliance Knowledge (Important) Battery Standards

- IEC 62619 (Li-ion battery safety)
- UL 1973 (Battery system safety)

BESS System Standards

- UL 9540 / UL 9540A (Energy storage system & fire testing)
- IEC 62933 (Electrical energy storage systems)

Grid & Electrical Compliance

- IEC / IEEE standards
- CEA guidelines (India)
- DISCOM / utility approval requirements

Fire & Safety Compliance

- NFPA 855 (Energy storage safety)
- Fire suppression system standards

Candidate should be capable of:

- Understanding certification requirements during the design stage
- Supporting documentation for approvals
- Coordinating with certification agencies and consultants

Tools & Software

- AutoCAD / EPLAN
- ETAP / DIgSILENT (preferred)
- MS Excel

Experience Required

- 4 5 years in BESS / Power / Renewable energy projects
- Manufacturing or EPC experience preferred

Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
