Role Description This is a full-time, in office Accountant role based in Mumbai. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank and cash accounts.

Responsibilities include preparing invoices, processing vendor bills and payments, handling payroll inputs, and monitoring accounts receivable and payable. The role involves preparing monthly and annual financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations. The Accountant will collaborate with management to provide financial insights, support audits,



and implement controls that help Petsburgh operate efficiently and sustainably.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, such as general ledger management, journal entry posting, and account reconciliation.

Candidates should possess proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, including preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

Candidates should possess knowledge of taxation and compliance, including GST, TDS, and local statutory requirements relevant to Mumbai and India.

Candidates should possess familiarity with accounting software and tools, such as Tally, ERP systems, spreadsheets, and basic data management applications.

Candidates should possess skills in budgeting, cost tracking, and expense monitoring to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with operations, management, and external partners.

Relevant educational qualifications, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.

Experience in small business or service industry environments, particularly pet care or retail, is beneficial.
