The Accounts Head is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the construction company, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role involves managing the accounts department, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

- Oversee the preparation and management of financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.

- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.

- Monitor and manage company cash flow, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Develop and manage annual budgets for various construction projects and the overall company.

- Conduct financial forecasting and variance analysis to provide insights on project performance and financial health.

- Collaborate with project managers to ensure adherence to budget constraints and financial targets.

Accounting Operations:

- Supervise and review all accounting functions, including payroll, invoicing, and expense management.

- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

- Ensure proper reconciliation of all accounts, including bank and inter-company accounts.

Compliance and Reporting:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws (GST, TDS, EPF, ESI & PT)

- Prepare and submit financial reports to regulatory bodies and senior management as required.

- Manage external audits and ensure timely and accurate submission of necessary documentation.

Team Management:

- Lead and mentor the accounts team,



including accountants and finance staff.

- Assign tasks, review performance, and provide training to ensure high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the finance department.

Project Financial Management:

- Work closely with project managers to track project costs, forecast expenditures, and manage financial risks.

- Oversee the financial aspects of contract negotiations and project billing.

- Ensure timely and accurate submission of payment claims and change orders.

Strategic Support:

- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic business decisions and project planning.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

- Assist in financial modeling and strategic planning to drive business growth.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.

Experience:

- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within the construction industry.

- Proven experience in managing financial operations for construction projects.

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

- Office workplace with occasional site visits to construction projects.

- May require extended hours during peak periods or project deadlines
