Job Title: ABA Authorizations Specialist

Terms: Market Value About the Position: The Authorizations Specialist plays a key role in supporting the organization’s growth by ensuring timely and accurate insurance authorizations for ABA services. Working under the direction of the President/Clinical Director and Authorizations Manager, this position requires solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This role involves close coordination with insurance providers, internal clinical teams, and the billing department to help deliver high-quality service to clients and their families.

Requirements

● Preferred experience in ABA billing and authorizations preferred

● Experience working with medicaid commercial insurance providers

● Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

● Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

● Willingness to work during standard business hours (aligned with company operations)

● Experience with CentralReach billing platform is preferred

Responsibilities





● Maintain strict HIPAA-compliant confidentiality of all client information

● Submit initial, reassessment, and ongoing service authorizations to insurance providers

● Follow up with insurance companies regarding authorization status and requirements

● Coordinate and schedule peer reviews for BCBAs as needed

● Respond to internal and external communications within 24 business hours

● Manage and organize the billing and authorizations inbox to ensure efficiency and timely responses

● Prepare and submit insurance appeals when necessary

● Stay up to date on payer guidelines, policies, and authorization requirements

● Document all communications with families and insurance providers accurately

● Collaborate with the billing team and provide support during authorization downtime

● Assist in onboarding, training, and mentoring new team members

● Provide guidance to supervisors and team members on insurance-related inquiries ● Conduct quality assurance audits to ensure billing and authorization timelines are met

● Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics

● Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment
