Role & responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) team.
- Provide strategic IP support to API, NCE, Formulation, NDDS, Biotech, New Product Development, Marketing, Business teams, subsidiaries, and research collaborators.
- Review patent literature and develop patent strategies for ANDA filings.
- Support current product selection through patentability and Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) assessments.
- Prepare non-infringement and IP clearance reports for API, NCE, Formulation, and NDDS projects.
- Develop and execute global patent filing strategies across key international markets.
- Draft, file, prosecute, and defend patent applications, including responses to office actions.
- Manage Cadila Pharmaceuticals' global patent portfolio and conduct third-party IP due diligence.
- File and defend post-grant oppositions and granted patents.




- Conduct literature searches using patent databases such as SciFinder and PatSeer.
- Prepare and review Patent Landscape Reports, Literature Search Reports (LSR), Formulation Disclosure Reports, and Literature Toolkit (LTK) Reports.
- Drive knowledge-sharing initiatives and mentor the IPR team to foster innovation and excellence.

Preferred candidate profile

- Ph.D. (Pharmacy) or M.Pharm.
- Registered Patent Agent certification will be preferred.
- Strong expertise in global patent laws, patent prosecution, ANDA litigation support, Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) analysis, patent landscaping, and IP portfolio management.
- Experience handling patents across the US, Europe, India, and other regulated markets will be an added advantage.
