Role & responsibilities

Responsible for supporting commercial management, contract administration, cost control, and contractor billing activities across assigned project packages. The incumbent will work closely with PMCs, Quantity Surveyors, Cost Consultants, Contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate bill certification, cost visibility, contractual compliance, and timely commercial closure of project activities.

The role will support the Commercial Controller in maintaining governance standards, managing contractor payments, monitoring project costs, administering contracts, and providing commercial insights to support project delivery.

Contractor Billing & Cost Control

- Review and validate contractor RA Bills along with PMCs and Cost Consultants.
- Verify quantity measurements, material reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Track contractor payments and ensure compliance with contractual payment milestones.
- Escalate cost overruns, billing discrepancies, or commercial risks to the Commercial Controller.

Commercial Governance & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with approved budgets, company policies, delegated authority limits, and contractual provisions.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for commercial transactions.
- Track closure of commercial actions identified through audits and governance reviews.
- Ensure proper record management and document control for commercial activities.

Stakeholder Coordination

- Coordinate with PMCs, Quantity Surveyors, Cost Consultants, Contractors, Procurement, Project Controls.
- Follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely submission and review of commercial deliverables.
- Support resolution of commercial queries, billing disputes, and contractual issues.
- Provide inputs for management reviews and project governance meetings.





Reporting & Analysis

- Prepare monthly commercial dashboards and project cost reports.
- Analyse commercial trends, cost variances, and budget utilization.
- Support preparation of Estimate at Completion (EAC) and cost-to-complete assessments.
- Generate ad-hoc commercial reports for management decision-making

Technical Skills:

- Valuable understanding of construction contracts, EPC contracts, and commercial management principles.
- Experience in RA Bill certification, quantity verification, and material reconciliation.
- Familiarity with SAP, ERP systems, and project cost management tools.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- CMA, B. Com, MBA (Finance), BE (Civil), or BE (Mechanical).
- Certification in Quantity Surveying, Contract Management, Commercial Management, or Project Management preferred.

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, quantities, and project execution workflows.

Preferred candidate profile

- 5-8 years of experience in commercial management, contractor billing, project controls, quantity surveying, contract administration.
- Experience in industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, semiconductor, data centre, EPC, or large-scale construction projects.
- Experience working with PMCs, Cost Consultants, Quantity Surveyors, and Contractors.

Experience with large-scale project companies, PMC environments, or EPC contractors is preferred.
