Job Purpose

Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by Radiation Oncologists according to the established practices standards, also to review prescription diagnosis and to prepare equipment for immobilization, protection treatment for patients.

Essential duties and responsibilities

- Responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through radiation therapy treatments
- Assist Radiation Oncologist and Clinical Physicist with preparation of radiation treatment plan
- Monitor the patient s physical and psychological well being during the entire course of treatment.
- Perform treatment simulations, fabricates all necessary shielding blocks, and maintain accurate EMR
- Cautiously and carefully position the patients such that the useful radiation beam is directed and limited to anatomical area to be treated
- Advice the patient regarding the side effects of the treatment
- Ensure that the patient receiving treatment understand the importance of treatment procedures
- Double check all the treatment parameters before setting the monitor unit according the prescribed treatment dose.




- Prepares equipment for patient treatments performing quality control and assurance tests, ensuring proper infection control techniques, and adheres to optimal radiation safety and protection practices.
- Perform and document the results of many routine tasks for the safe use of licensed material as established in the radiation safety program.
- Maintains qualified working relationships with medical staff.

Working conditions

- Will work in different Shifts of 8.5 hours a day.
- May have to be on call in case of any emergency.
- Prolonged monitoring hours.

Skills Abilities

- Should have very good assisting skill.
- Should have basic knowledge of computers.
- Should be polite good in communication while handling patient.
- Considerable individual initiative, reasoning skill, and sound judgment
