Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities for a biopharmaceutical manufacturing organization. The role is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of raw materials, supporting current product development (NPD), sourcing Reference Listed Drugs (RLDs), managing SAP-based procurement processes, and maintaining uninterrupted supply while ensuring quality, compliance, and cost optimization.

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, new product development for bio pharmaceutical manufacturing.

- Support New Product Development (NPD) by identifying and sourcing new materials, excipients, and packaging components.
- Source and procure Reference Listed Drugs (RLDs) for formulation development, analytical studies, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.




- Ensure uninterrupted material availability while optimizing inventory levels.
- Work closely with R&D;, QA, QC, Regulatory Affairs, Production, and Supply Chain teams.
- Create and manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, and vendor master data in SAP.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with GMP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical raw materials, APIs, excipients, packaging materials, and vendor management.
- Experience in sourcing RLDs and supporting NPD projects.
- Hands-on experience with SAP (MM module preferred).
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.

Job Requirements :

- 7-12 years of experience in purchasing or procurement role in pharmaceuticals industry.
- Strong knowledge of raw material sourcing and vendor development processes.
