Function : Technical Research

Location : Kolkata

Experience : 2 to 6 years

Role Description

- Research emerging raw materials, technologies, and manufacturing practices used in foundries globally.
- Read and analyze research papers, patents, conference proceedings, technical journals, and industry publications to identify new product opportunities.
- Collaborate with IITs, IISc, NITs, international universities, research laboratories, and industry organizations on technical projects and product development.




- Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to develop and customize new products for the Indian market.
- Support laboratory evaluations, industrial trials, product validation, and technical troubleshooting.
- Prepare technical reports, literature reviews, product specifications, trial protocols, and technical documentation.
- Track global technology trends and recommend recent product categories for commercialization.
- Coordinate with internal Category Development, Procurement, Sales, and Operations teams during product development and launch.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 26 years of experience in Research & Development, Product Development, Materials Research, Foundry, Steel, Ferro Alloys, Refractories, or related industries.

Preferred Skills

- Strong understanding of metallurgy and materials science.
- Ability to understand and interpret scientific literature and patents.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong curiosity and willingness to learn.
- Ability to interact with professors,



researchers, laboratories, suppliers, and customers.
- Familiarity with characterization techniques such as XRF, XRD, SEM, ICP-OES, Optical Microscopy, Carbon/Sulfur Analysis, and Thermal Analysis will be an added advantage, but not necessary.
