The MRO Procurement Executive will be responsible for sourcing and procurement of Maintenance, Repair and Operations materials required across the organisations manufacturing units. The role involves vendor development, quotation analysis, price negotiation, purchase order processing, delivery follow-up and coordination with plant-level users to ensure timely availability of materials.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle procurement of MRO materials, engineering spares, consumables, tools, safety items, electrical components, mechanical components and general maintenance supplies.
- Receive and review purchase requisitions raised by plant and departmental users.
- Identify suitable vendors and obtain competitive quotations.
- Prepare comparative statements and conduct commercial evaluation of offers.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery timelines, freight and other commercial conditions with vendors.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with approved procurement policies.
- Coordinate with plant teams, maintenance departments, stores, finance and vendors for smooth execution of orders.
- Monitor pending purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Follow up with vendors regarding order acknowledgement, dispatch schedules, documentation and material delivery.
- Support vendor development and identify alternate sources for critical and frequently required materials.
- Maintain vendor databases, price records, purchase histories and procurement documentation.
- Track procurement costs and support cost-saving and cost-optimisation initiatives.
- Resolve issues related to delayed supplies, quality concerns, short supply, incorrect materials and commercial discrepancies.
- Coordinate with finance and accounts teams for invoice verification and payment-related matters.




- Ensure compliance with the organisation’s procurement procedures, approval matrix and documentation standards.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports covering purchase orders, pending deliveries, savings, vendor performance and procurement status.

Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Diploma or certification in Materials Management, Procurement or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 2–5 years of relevant experience in MRO procurement, industrial purchasing or engineering procurement.
- Experience in the iron and steel, metals, power, heavy engineering, manufacturing or process industry will be preferred.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of MRO materials, engineering spares and industrial consumables.
- Strong commercial negotiation and vendor-management skills.
- Ability to prepare quotation comparisons and analyse commercial terms.
- Good understanding of purchase order processing and procurement documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement MIS reporting.
- Working knowledge of ERP, SAP or any procurement management system.
- Strong communication, coordination and follow-up skills.
- Ability to handle multiple purchase requirements within defined timelines.
- Basic understanding of taxation, freight, payment terms and commercial conditions.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Candidates currently handling centralised procurement or multi-plant procurement will be preferred.
- Should be comfortable coordinating with plant users and vendors across different locations.
- Should possess robust analytical ability, commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Must be proactive, organised and capable of independently managing assigned procurement categories.
