Job Description: Mechanical Services & HVAC Specialist (Data Center Projects)

Position Summary

The Plant Room & HVAC Specialist will be responsible for the design, modeling, and coordination of HVAC systems, including plant room equipment, chilled water systems, air handling units, and related mechanical services for data center projects. The role requires robust technical knowledge of mechanical systems, plant room layout, and hands-on experience in BIM/Revit modeling for data center environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, model, and coordinate HVAC systems, plant room layouts, and associated mechanical services in Revit.
- Develop, update, and manage Revit models for Mechanical services including HVAC, Fire Fighting, and Plumbing for Data Centers..
- Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, including ducting, piping, pumps, chillers, and plant room equipment layouts.
- Develop and maintain Revit families and templates specific to plant room and HVAC systems.
- Perform BIM-based clash detection and resolve conflicts with architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
- Ensure compliance with design standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with electrical, plumbing,



and fire-fighting teams for integrated plant room solutions.
- Support project deliverables, including shop drawings, as-built drawings, and BIM execution plans.
- Optimize plant room layouts for operational efficiency and maintenance accessibility.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong proficiency in Revit MEP Mechanical, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows.
- Deep understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water plants, air handling units, pumps, and related plant room equipment.
- Hands-on experience with data center projects is mandatory.
- Knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and best practices in HVAC and plant room design.
- Ability to interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in plant room and HVAC design, modeling, and coordination. With

at least 2 years in data center projects preferred.
