SAP PI/PO (Process Integration/Process Orchestration) Consultant

Required SAP PI/PO Consultant with highly skilled professional responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting integration solutions using the SAP PI/PO platform, with strong hands-on expertise in BPM (Business Process Management) for orchestrating complex, multi-step integration and human-workflow scenarios and in Java mapping.

Core Technical Skills

- 710+ years of experience in SAP PI/PO, S/4HANA integration, and SAP NetWeaver.
- Expertise in message mappings, adapter configuration, runtime workbench, and integration directory.
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP BPM (Business Process Management), including:
- Process modeling and development using NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS) and NW BPM.
- Working with multiple events/pallets and boundary events within BPM processes.
- Knowledge of process — sequencing multiple synchronous/asynchronous interfaces into a single orchestrated business process (e.g., multi-system approval chains, PO-to-Pay or Order-to-Cash orchestration).

- Strong experience with XML, XSD, WSDL, XPath, and web services.
- Experience in REST and OData APIs for S/4HANA.
- Good understanding of ALE, IDoc, RFC, BAPI, and Proxy integration.
- Advantage of having Knowledge of SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) or SAP Integration Suite, including how BPM-based processes can be re-architected as Integration Suite iFlows during migration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Integration & BPM Solution Design Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand integration and process-orchestration requirements. Design effective, scalable integration solutions using SAP PI/PO — and where multi-step, stateful, or human-in-the-loop logic is required,



design BPM-based orchestration processes rather than easy point-to-point interfaces. Analyze existing systems, identify integration touchpoints, and define the overall integration/process architecture.

2. Development and Configuration

- Develop and configure integration scenarios using SAP PI/PO — interfaces, data mappings, integration flows, and business rules/transformations.
- Build and deploy BPM processes (NW BPM) for scenarios requiring multi-system orchestration, parallel processing, wait steps, timeouts, correlations, and human task approvals.
- Configure and manage adapters (IDoc, SOAP, REST, File, JDBC, JMS, SFTP, HTTP, etc.).
- Develop mappings (Graphical, Java, XSLT, ABAP, or UDF-based) for message transformation.

3. System Implementation and Testing

- Install, configure, and deploy SAP PI/PO components, including BPM runtime configuration in the Integration Engine/Advanced Adapter Engine.
- Conduct thorough testing of integration and BPM process instances to validate correlations, task routing, timeout behavior, and exception/escalation handling.
- Perform PI/PO system monitoring, error handling, and performance tuning — including BPM-specific monitoring (process instance tracking, workflow logs, task inbox issues).
- Manage alerts, queues, message logs, and troubleshoot failed messages and stuck/blocked

4. Documentation and Training Create detailed technical specifications, process flow diagrams (including BPM process models), design documents, and user guides. Provide training and knowledge transfer on integration architecture and BPM process logic to technical and functional teams.

5. Support and Maintenance Provide ongoing support for integration and BPM-based solutions — troubleshoot production issues (including stuck workflows/human tasks), apply patches and upgrades, and ensure system availability and reliability.
