Role: Java-Perl Developer

Job Description:

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Core Java, J2EE, and Perl.
- Develop Perl programs, modules, utilities, and batch-processing components for critical applications.
- Integrate Java and Perl components in enterprise applications, ensuring reliable interoperability.
- Refactor and optimize Java and Perl code for performance, security, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot defects and production issues in Java- and Perl-based applications.
- Translate business requirements into effective Java and Perl solutions with cross-functional teams.
- Modernize and migrate legacy Perl applications and Java/J2EE components with minimal disruption.
- Review code, enforce standards, and improve the quality and testability of Java and Perl code.

Mandatory Skills:

- 3 to 5 years of software development experience with hands-on Java and Perl.
- Strong expertise in Core Java, including OOP, multithreading, collections, exception handling, and design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Java enterprise technologies such as Servlets, JSP, and JDBC.
- Robust Perl skills, including data structures, regular expressions, references,



modules/packages, file handling, and error handling.
- Experience developing object-oriented Perl applications and reusable Perl modules.
- Ability to debug, maintain, and enhance mixed Java and Perl codebases.
- Understanding of Java and Perl performance tuning, resource management, and secure coding.
- Knowledge of clean code, unit testing, and design patterns in Java and Perl.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience modernizing legacy Perl applications and integrating them with Java/J2EE systems.
- Experience creating reusable Java libraries and Perl modules for enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with the Perl CPAN ecosystem and commonly used core Perl modules.
- Experience profiling, troubleshooting, and optimizing Java and Perl applications.
- Understanding of Java and Perl interoperability approaches for shared business workflows.
- Experience supporting production applications built primarily in Java and Perl.
- Exposure to capital markets or investment management domains, providing domain-specific insights.

Strong documentation and knowledge-transfer skills for Java and Perl codebases.
