Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Fit Technician who will be responsible for ensuring that every garment developed by the company meets the required standards of fit, comfort, measurement accuracy, construction, and production feasibility.

The candidate will work closely with the design, merchandising, sampling, pattern making, quality, and production teams to ensure that garments are technically correct and aligned with the brands fit standards. The role requires strong knowledge of garment measurements, body proportions, pattern behavior, fabric behavior, size grading, and fit correction.

Key Responsibilities

Fit Review & Sample Evaluation

- Conduct fit trials on live models or dress forms as per the brands approved fit standards.
- Evaluate garment fit, balance, comfort, movement, fall, and overall appearance.
- Identify fit issues such as pulling, gaping, twisting, tightness, looseness, incorrect rise, sleeve imbalance, shoulder issues, armhole discomfort, crotch discomfort, and poor garment fall.
- Ensure that the final product matches the intended design, silhouette, and customer fit requirement.

Measurement & Specification Checking

- Check all samples against approved measurement charts and technical specification sheets.
- Verify key measurement points such as chest, shoulder, waist, hip, thigh, rise, inseam, outseam, sleeve length, armhole, bicep, cuff, bottom opening, and garment length as applicable.
- Maintain consistency of measurements across sizes, styles, categories, and vendors.
- Review garment tolerances and ensure they are achievable during bulk production.

Pattern & Fit Correction

- Provide clear and technically accurate fit correction comments to pattern masters, sampling teams, and vendors.
- Suggest pattern corrections based on fit issues, garment balance, seam placement, ease, fabric behavior, and construction limitations.
- Guide changes in rise, waist, hip, thigh, seat, armhole, shoulder, sleeve, collar, placket, bottom opening, and length wherever required.
- Ensure corrected samples are reviewed and approved before bulk production.





Size Set & Grading Review

- Review size sets to ensure correct grading across the full-size range.
- Check that the approved fit is maintained from smaller sizes to larger sizes.
- Identify grading issues in key areas such as waist, hip, thigh, rise, chest, shoulder, sleeve, armhole, and length.
- Coordinate with pattern and production teams to correct grading inconsistencies.

Technical Documentation

- Prepare and maintain fit comments, measurement sheets, sample approval records, size charts, and fit history documents.
- Ensure all fit comments are specific, measurable, and clearly communicated to vendors and internal teams.
- Maintain approved fit blocks, base patterns, and standard measurement charts for future reference.
- Support the creation and improvement of brand-specific fit standards.

Vendor & Production Coordination

- Work closely with vendors and factories to ensure proper execution of fit corrections.
- Review pre-production samples, size sets, and production samples before final approval.
- Ensure that approved fit and measurement standards are maintained in bulk production.
- Highlight production risks related to fit, fabric shrinkage, stretch recovery, workmanship, and measurement control.

Quality & Fit Consistency

- Support the quality team in resolving measurement and fit-related production issues.
- Check garment behavior after washing, shrinkage, pressing, finishing, and wear trials where required.
- Ensure that customer-facing products are comfortable, well-balanced, and consistent with the brand’s fit identity.
- Help reduce fit-related customer complaints, returns, and alterations.

- Chinos / cotton trousers
- Shirts
- T-shirts / polos
- Casual wear and smart-casual menswear

Required Skills & Knowledge

- Strong understanding of garment fit, pattern, construction, and measurements.
- Good knowledge of human body proportions and body movement.
- Ability to identify fit issues and give practical correction comments.
- Knowledge of woven and knitted fabrics, shrinkage, stretch, recovery, and fabric fall.
- Understanding of size charts, grading, measurement tolerances, and technical specification sheets.
- Experience in fit sessions, sample approvals, vendor coordination, and production follow-up.
- Good communication skills for working with designers, merchandisers, pattern masters, sampling teams, vendors, and factories.
- Solid attention to detail and ability to maintain fit consistency across styles and sizes.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Pattern Making, Garment Technology, or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in apparel fit, technical product development, or garment sampling.
- Prior experience in menswear will be preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of trousers, shirts, jackets, and smart-casual apparel.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of fit approvals.
- Must be comfortable working with vendors, factories, pattern masters, and internal product teams.

Role Objective

The main objective of this role is to ensure that every garment produced by the company is technically correct, comfortable, well-fitted, production-ready, and consistent with the brand’s fit standards.
