Experience:
Extensive experience in EV Bus/Trucks/Cars Fleet Management, Charging Infrastructure, Fleet Safety, and Road Safety Systems, with strong exposure to large-scale fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
EHS & Road Safety Strategy
- Design and implement an integrated EHS & Road Safety strategy aligned with company objectives, regulatory requirements, and best-in-class mobility safety standards.
- Drive a zero-fatality, zero-major-incident culture across EV bus/Trucks/Car fleet operations.
- Embed road safety, fleet safety, and EV-specific safety controls into daily operations and decision-making.
Fleet Safety & Road Safety Leadership
- Lead end-to-end Fleet Safety Management Systems (FSMS) covering:
- EV Bus/Trucks/Cars operations
- Driver safety & behavior monitoring
- Defensive driving & fatigue management
- Speed management, route risk assessment, and incident prevention
- Develop and implement Road Safety Policies, SOPs, and risk assessment frameworks for EV bus operations.
- Oversee incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions related to road accidents, near misses, and vehicle safety events.
- Drive adoption of telematics, ADAS, CCTV, and driver monitoring systems to enhance fleet and road safety.
- Work closely with operations teams to improve vehicle uptime without compromising safety standards.
EV Fleet & Charging Infrastructure Safety
- Ensure safe operations of EV buses/Trucks/Cars, depots, charging infrastructure, and battery systems.
- Develop safety protocols for:
- High-voltage systems
- Battery handling & thermal risk
- Charging stations & depot safety
- Emergency response for EV-related incidents
- Coordinate with OEMs, charging partners, and maintenance teams on EV-specific safety standards and audits.
Regulatory Compliance & EHS Governance
- Ensure compliance with environment, health, safety, and transport regulations, including road transport and motor vehicle safety norms.
- Streamline EHS & road safety processes to ensure effective, business-oriented management of risks and controls.
- Supervise implementation and effectiveness of EHS & Fleet Safety Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and relevant transport safety standards).
- Lead statutory inspections, external audits, and regulatory interactions with authorities, auditors, and consultants.
KPIs, Reporting & Leadership Engagement
- Define and track EHS & Road Safety KPIs, including:
- Accident frequency & severity
- Near-miss reporting
- Driver safety scores
- EV safety incidents
- Regulatory compliance metrics
- Report regularly on safety performance, trends, risks, and improvement actions to senior leadership, Management Board, and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate EHS & road safety reporting with internal stakeholders,
including Corporate Controlling and Operations.
Training, Culture & Capability Building
- Design and deploy robust driver safety, road safety, and EV safety training programs, including:
- Defensive & predictive driving
- EV-specific emergency response
- Fatigue, distraction, and substance-abuse prevention
- Build a strong safety-first culture across drivers, technicians, and operations teams through continuous engagement and awareness programs.
Benchmarking & Thought Leadership
- Conduct benchmarking studies on fleet safety, EV Bus/Trucks/Cars safety, and road safety practices across mobility and transport sectors.
- Represent the company in industry forums, road safety initiatives, and mobility safety platforms at national and international levels.
Key Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in EHS, Road Safety, and Fleet Safety Management, preferably in EV buses/Trucks, public transport, logistics, or large commercial vehicle fleets.
- Strong hands-on experience in fleet operations, driver safety programs, accident investigation, and telematics-driven safety systems.
- Deep understanding of EV safety risks, charging infrastructure safety, and high-voltage systems.
- Proven ability to manage large driver populations and multi-location fleet operations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with regulators, OEMs, auditors, and internal leadership.
- Qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Transport Safety, or a related field is preferred.
