HDFC Bank is hiring for Credit Manager/Underwriter role in Mumbai - Wholesale Credit Vertical.

Role & responsibilities

- To assess, evaluate review and approve credit proposals as a first level officer for the Wholesale Banking relationships which is referred to wholesale credit involving various products like Term Loans, Trade Finance, CC, ODs and PSR
- Complete ownership of assigned portfolio of accounts including regular monitoring, early warning identifications, deferral tracking and working on appropriate account strategy in conjunction with Business teams in line with the banks risk appetite
- Partner with business, CAD, Operations and compliance teams to help in meeting regulatory compliance with respect to credit dispensation and monitoring including end use.
- Review credit proposals (CAMs/ Interim CAMS) submitted by business on assigned portfolio and assess the credit & risk involved comprehensively.
- To convey a clear opinion regarding the acceptability of the proposed transaction/ facilities, from risk point of view, covering business model, industry risk, structure, financial risk & regulations




- Awareness of the product proposed, suitability to the client requirements and need based assessment
- Emphasizing completeness / accuracy of CAM's and Coverage / Intensity of diligence & adherence to Credit Policy and extant regulatory guidelines
- Ongoing monitoring of accounts including tracking developments in the industry and the account to identify stress early and work with business in devising appropriate mitigation strategies wherever required. Review and respond to early warning signals. Monitoring has to enable advance
- To help review end use monitoring on defined periodicity (to be covered on a quarterly basis).
- Appropriate level of client calling to develop solid understanding of client business and industry dynamics

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 4-5 years of experience in Credit Underwriting for Large Corporates, SME, MSME, Wholesale Clients.

Banking Experience is preferred.

Qualification - MBA/CA.
