Core Function

Social performance governance; CSR strategy and BRSR Principle 8 compliance; community development; human rights; supply chain social compliance

Key Responsibilities

Group CSR strategy and Companies Act 2013 Schedule VII compliance; community development programm design and monitoring across all Tier 1 mining and industrial units; human rights due diligence framework (BRSR Principle 5); Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC)



policy oversight for projects affecting indigenous or local communities; supply chain ESG risk assessment and supplier code of conduct; stakeholder engagement framework; grievance mechanism design and oversight; gender and inclusion metrics (BRSR Principle 5); POSH compliance interface with HR; management of community complaints escalation, including coordination with Legal and Governance & Risk on matters that carry litigation or reputational exposure (for example, environmental NGO notices and pre-litigation matters)

Co-ownership with HR

Labour practices (BRSR Principle 3) are jointly owned with Group HR HR provides data; Social Performance manager validates and reports; no duplication of functions. At unit level, this function's counterpart is the Social & Governance function (Section 5.1.4), which carries CSR and HR-adjacent responsibilities at site level.
