This role will handle litigation and criminal procedure related work in a tech startup environment. The role focuses on managing high-volume regulatory and legal compliance matters, particularly lien marking and debit freeze issues, ensuring timely resolution and compliance. The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of overseeing end-to-end legal operational processes to reduce customer impact and compliance risks.

- Debit Freeze Lien Management: Serve as the DRI for the processing, tracking, and final resolution of all legal requests, with accountability for the Time to Unfreeze accounts that are impacted via a Debit Freeze (DF).
- Litigation: Take full ownership of the project management lifecycle for litigation matters. This includes coordinating with external counsel, tracking hearing dates, managing documentation exchange, and ensuring timely filing of responses.
- Issue Resolution: Identify recurring process bottlenecks in compliance operations and proactively suggest improvements to legal and operational workflows to enhance efficiency.
- Regulatory Responses: Manage and execute the legal process for all incoming data and information requests, with accountability for the Time to respond to incoming requests for data from Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs).
- Legal Notices: Oversee the intake, classification, and response process for legal correspondence, with accountability for the Time to respond to legal notices received from multiple parties.
- Process Execution: Rigorously execute defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for applying and revoking lien markings and debit freezes based on judicial or regulatory orders.
- Documentation Reporting: Maintain immaculate records of all actions taken, correspondence received,



and final resolutions in compliance matters. Provide regular, accurate reporting on case status and resolution times to senior legal and operational stakeholders.
- Internal Coordination: Act as the primary legal liaison with internal teams, including Compliance, Customer Operations, and Finance, to gather necessary customer data and execute legal holds efficiently.

- Experience: Proven experience in litigation management or support.
- Communication: Demonstrated ability to put your point across in a polite but firm manner when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perseverance/Resilience: A high degree of perseverance required to navigate complex and persistent legal/operational challenges.
- Business Acumen: Robust understanding of business processes and a willingness to understand a new technology sector (Web3/Crypto).
- Process Management: Proven ability to manage complex workflows, maintain organized records, and track multiple matters simultaneously.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on accuracy and precision, especially when dealing with legal documentation and sensitive customer data.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working with CRM systems and advanced spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel/Google Sheets) for tracking and reporting.
- Education: A Bachelor s degree in Law (LL.B.) is required.
- Experience range: 4-6 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in legal operations, financial services, or managing high-volume regulatory compliance matters.
