Job Summary

The Patient Coordinator in the Emergency Ward is responsible for managing patient admissions, registrations, transfers, and discharges while ensuring smooth coordination between patients, healthcare providers, and support departments. The role requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced emergency environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Welcome and assist patients and their attendants upon arrival in the emergency department.
- Coordinate patient registration, admission, and documentation.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance, and billing information.
- Facilitate communication between doctors, nurses, patients, and family members.
- Coordinate patient movement for investigations, procedures, admissions, or transfers.
- Monitor patient flow and update the emergency team regarding bed availability.
- Ensure timely completion of consent forms and other required documentation.




- Maintain accurate patient records in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Assist in arranging ambulance services and interdepartmental coordination.
- Provide regular updates to patient families regarding administrative processes.
- Handle patient queries and resolve complaints professionally.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient confidentiality, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with billing, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and inpatient departments for seamless patient care.
- Support emergency physicians and nursing staff with administrative coordination as required.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospital Management, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Diploma or certification in Hospital Administration is an added advantage.
