Role Summary
The Trade Finance Documentary Collections associate is responsible for processing and managing inward and outward documentary collection transactions in accordance with bank policies, international trade practices, and regulatory requirements. The role ensures accurate document handling, compliance screening, and timely execution of collection instructions while maintaining effective communication with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.

Process inward and outward documentary collections in line with SOP and operational guidelines.
Handle activities such as:
- Collection booking
- Payment processing
- Bill liquidation
- Ensure transactions are processed accurately and within defined timelines.
Document Verification & Handling
- Perform physical and system-based verification of trade documents (e.g., bills of exchange, invoices, shipping documents).
- Ensure completeness and authenticity of documents before processing.
- Identify discrepancies and initiate appropriate action/escalation.
Compliance & Risk Control
- Conduct sanctions screening and name screening checks using authorized tools.
- Ensure compliance with AML/ATF and internal policies.
- Capture all relevant names, countries, and transaction details for risk assessment.
Coordinate with:
- Relationship Managers (RMs)
- Service teams
- Correspondent banks
- Internal operations units
Provide updates on transaction status and resolve queries efficiently.
Communicate discrepancies, delays, or non-standard cases to internal Compliance team for guidance.
Exception Handling & Escalation
- Identify non-standard transactions or exceptions.
- Escalate issues to Assistant Manager / Manager as per escalation framework.
- Follow up on resolution and ensure proper documentation.
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and quality standards.
- Participate in audits, QC reviews, and process improvements.
Contribute to SOP updates and operational enhancements when required
