Position: Chief Security Officer (CSO)

Writer Information is seeking a highly experienced and disciplined security leader for the position of Assistant General Manager Chief Security Officer (CSO). The ideal candidate should be an Ex-Armed Forces Officer (Indian Army, Navy, Air Force) or equivalent Paramilitary Officer with approximately 20+ years of experience in security operations, administration, risk management, intelligence, and asset protection.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive security framework across all facilities nationwide, ensuring the protection of people, customer records, information assets, infrastructure, warehouses, and secure storage facilities. The role requires extensive travel across India and close coordination with facility teams, and senior management. The position demands strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a proactive approach to safeguarding highly sensitive information and physical assets.

A. Key Responsibilities

1. Security Strategy & Governance

- Develop and implement the organization's physical security strategy across all locations in India.
- Establish security policies, SOPs, contingency plans, and crisis management protocols.
- Conduct periodic security risk assessments and vulnerability studies.
- Build and maintain a culture of security awareness across the organization.
- Lead enterprise-wide security audits and compliance reviews.

2. Facility & Asset Security Management

- Oversee security operations across all records management centers, document repositories, and secure storage facilities.
- Ensure protection of confidential customer records,



sensitive documents, and information assets.
- Develop controls for access management, visitor management, material movement, and perimeter security.
- Ensure 24x7 security coverage at all facilities.

3. Risk Management & Investigations

- Identify emerging threats and security risks impacting business operations.
- Lead investigations relating to theft, pilferage, fraud, unauthorized access, or security breaches.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
- Develop incident reporting mechanisms.
- Prepare risk assessment reports for senior management.

4. Security Technology & Surveillance

- Oversee deployment and maintenance of:
- CCTV Surveillance Systems
- Access Control Systems
- Intrusion Detection Systems
- Alarm Monitoring Systems
- Visitor Management Systems
- Fire & Life Safety Systems

- Drive adoption of technology-enabled security solutions across facilities.
- Monitor security system effectiveness and vendor performance.

5. Crisis Management & Business Continuity

- Develop emergency response plans for fire, natural disasters, security incidents, and operational disruptions.
- Lead incident response and crisis management teams.




- Conduct regular mock drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.

6. Stakeholder & Government Liaison

- Maintain robust relationships with:
- Local Police Authorities
- Fire Departments

- Coordinate investigations and security-related statutory matters.

7. Team Leadership & Administration

- Lead and mentor regional security teams across multiple states.
- Establish performance standards and training programs.
- Manage outsourced security agencies and vendor contracts.
- Conduct periodic inspections and surprise audits.
- Drive continuous improvement in security operations.

B. Desired Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

- Graduate in any discipline.
- Certification in Security Management, Industrial Security, or Disaster Management will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of physical security systems, investigations, and crisis management.

Experience

- Minimum 20 years of overall experience.
- Mandatory JCO (Junior Commissioned officer) background from:
- Indian Army
- Indian Navy
- Indian Air Force
- CAPF / Paramilitary Forces

- Experience managing multi-location security operations across India.
- Prior corporate experience in logistics, warehousing, records management, secure storage, manufacturing, infrastructure, or large-scale facilities management will be preferred.

Travel Requirement

- Regular visits to facilities, warehouses, and secure storage centers across multiple states.
