Job Title: AML Analyst
Business Unit: Compliance
Role Purpose
The AML Analyst is responsible for ensuring end-to-end compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. The role focuses on monitoring transactions, reviewing alerts, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements issued by bodies such as RBI, FIU-IND, NPCI, CKYCR, and UIDAI. The objective is to proactively identify risks, support regulatory reporting, and strengthen the organizations compliance framework.
Note: The selected candidate will be required to complete an additional 20 hours of KYC/AML training and successfully clear a Unity Bank assessment prior to receiving the final job offer.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks related to AML and KYC.
- Conduct quality reviews of alerts closed by L1 and L2 teams on a periodic basis.
- Monitor system-generated and offline/thematic AML alerts.
- Prepare and review Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR) and coordinate submissions to APO/PO.
- Track and manage alerts, regulatory requests, and escalations from authorities such as FIU-IND, ED, and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs).
- Handle AML-related training coordination, tracking, and awareness initiatives.
- Interpret regulatory circulars/advisories from RBI, NPCI, CKYCR, UIDAI,
and FIU; derive actionable insights.
- Prepare, circulate, and follow up on action items with internal stakeholders to ensure timely closure.
- Support investigations related to money laundering and terrorist financing activities.
- Maintain documentation, audit trails, and compliance records as per regulatory standards.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- Strong understanding of AML/CFT (Combating Financing of Terrorism) regulations and frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in AML alert monitoring, case investigation, and transaction analysis.
- Knowledge of name screening, sanctions screening, and Re-KYC processes.
- Experience in preparing regulatory reports such as STR, CTR, NTR, CCR, and CBWTR.
- Familiarity with FIU-IND reporting processes and regulatory compliance standards.
- Ability to review and validate alerts handled by L1 and L2 teams.
- Understanding of thematic monitoring scenarios and risk-based approaches.
- Proficiency in drafting SOPs, policies, circulars, and compliance advisories.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Commerce, Law, or related field.
- Certifications such as CAMS or equivalent (preferred).
- 0 - 2 years of experience in AML/KYC compliance roles within banking, fintech, or financial services.
