Functional Tester API Testing (CASA & Payments)

Experience: 4 Years+

We are looking for an experienced Functional Tester with strong expertise in API Testing who has been involved in building and implementing API testing frameworks/processes from scratch. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the Banking domain, particularly in CASA (Current Account & Savings Account) and Payments, with the ability to understand business workflows, design comprehensive API test scenarios, and validate end-to-end integrations.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform end-to-end Functional and API Testing for banking applications.
- Design, develop, and execute API test scenarios, test cases, and test data from scratch.
- Build and establish API testing processes for new services and applications.
- Validate REST APIs using Postman and JSON payloads.
- Verify request/response structures, status codes, business validations, and data integrity.
- Test complex API integrations across multiple banking systems.
- Understand business requirements and convert them into effective test scenarios.
- Perform functional validation for CASA and Payments modules.
- Execute integration, regression, and system testing.
- Identify, log, track, and validate defects using JIRA.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and QA teams in Agile environments.
- Participate in requirement discussions and provide testing estimates and risk assessments.




- Ensure complete traceability from requirements to test execution.

Mandatory Skills

- 4+ years of Functional Testing experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in API Testing using Postman.
- Experience in building API testing from scratch, including:
- Understanding API specifications.
- Designing API test strategy.
- Creating test scenarios and test cases.
- Preparing test data.
- Validating business logic and database interactions.

- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods, headers, authentication mechanisms, and status codes.
- Excellent understanding of CASA (Current Account & Savings Account).
- Strong experience in Payments, including domestic and digital payment workflows.
- Experience with banking transaction validations and accounting entries.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA.
- Solid analytical and debugging skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology.

Good to Have

- Basic SQL for backend data validation.
- Knowledge of API automation tools (Rest Assured, Karate, etc.).
- Experience with Git.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
- Banking product implementation experience.

Automation Experience would be a plus.
