Name of the Organization: Power Exchange India Limited Department: Business Development Position: Asst Manager/ Deputy Manager Location: Chennai Qualification: B Tech or BE and MBA in Power/Energy Stream Years of experience: 2-10 years

Role Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the role include:

- Market Development: Develop and expand the power market across the state, achieving the budgeted growth rate by acquiring new members/clients and servicing existing ones.
- Regulatory Knowledge Strategy Execution: Possess a strong understanding of Open Access Regulations and transactions. Develop and execute strategies for sales and marketing within the allotted geographical coverage.
- Research and formulate state-wise views on demand and supply along with price estimations.
- Identify and monitor open access consumers across states. Analyse state tariff orders and open access regulations.
- Execute business development initiatives and activities such as organizing workshops, conferences, and events at the state level to promote open access.
- Ensure regular interaction with state DISCOMs, RLDC, SLDC, Transco, Regulatory Commissions and various other stakeholders.
- Client Coordination: Coordinate, assist and address queries and concerns of members/clients on a day-to-day basis.
- Market Tracking Reporting: Track power market developments, including regulatory changes and competition. Prepare and report MIS data.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Must be open for extensive travelling for engaging with stakeholders (Regulatory Commissions, Utilities, Clients, Members, and industry associations).
- Business Development Market Expertise: Strong understanding of Power Market trading, Power Exchange operations, and Bilateral trade mechanisms.
- In-depth knowledge of current OA regulations, PMR requirements including Certificates,



Scheduling, GNA/TGNA, congestion management, and regulatory statutory provisions.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and develop new business opportunities within the energy and power trading ecosystem.
- Sound understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks related to open access and market participation.
- Knowledge of power market trading, purchase, open access, power exchanges, RECs, ESCERTs, congestion management, regulatory statutory provisions, etc.
- Sound understanding of legal/regulatory aspects related to open access.

Industry Experience:

Experience in power/infrastructure sectors and commodity trading/securities trading.

Exposure to commercial/purchase/project management functions.

Skills Abilities:

- Strong ability to develop relationships and maintain a robust network. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in Excel, presentation, and analytical skills. Proficiency in local languages (Marathi, Hindi) is preferred.
- Business Development: Ability to identify prospects, build pipelines, and convert opportunities into long-term business.
- Relationship Management: Robust networking and stakeholder engagement skills to develop and sustain client relationships.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills to influence decision-making.
- Analytical Strategic Thinking: Proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and business presentations to support market insights and deal structuring.
- Multilingual Advantage: Proficiency in local languages (Tamil, Hindi) is preferred to enhance client connect and regional market penetration.
