Experience - 15 plus years in to Electrical design Engineering in Control panel / Switchgear

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the design and detail engineering activities of industrial electrical equipment and products, including development of electrical drawings, sizing of electrical components, preparation of bill of materials, and providing technical support for the department personnel. The candidate is required to have a minimum 15 years of relevant industry working experience. Working knowledge with UL, CSA, NFPA, ANSI and CE standards, hazardous location classification and requirements is required. PLC programming knowledge and/or experience is preferred

Role & responsibilities:

- Review technical specifications; preparation, review, and approval of drawings, bills of materials, and other engineering documentations
- Responsible for developing the Project Design Criteria (if applicable)
- Issue technical documents and drawing packages for the manufacture of products
- Provide engineering and technical support to Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality departments
- Maintain computer data, files, and document records
- Respond to any inquiries in a time sensitive manner to ensure the maintenance of delivery deadlines
- Follow all company procedures
- Responsible for communicating project requirements to the team members, along with expectations on quality, schedule or other restrictions of technical nature




- Responsible to ensure that all team members follow the Quality Plan and take corrective actions where deficiencies occur
- Responsible to lead all technical aspects of the project, including but not limited to project set-up, choice of technical tools to be used in the project, identifying the roles of the team members, appropriately allocating work within the team
- Responsible for identifying and evaluating scope creep in the project and communicating it to the Project Manager
- Responsible for communicating with the Project Manager the evolving requirements on the schedule, staffing and budget deviations upon discovery
- Responsible for maintaining the Project Design folder structure
- Provides input in the development of Global and Regional tools and procedures as required
- Ensure a safe workplace, including compliance with established safety laws, regulations, codes, policies, and procedures

- Working knowledge with PLC programming is preferred
- Familiar with the following codes and standards is preferred: o Canadian Electrical Code, CSA 22.1, CSA 22.2 No. 14, 25, 30 o NFPA 70, 496 o UL 508, 508A, 698, 698A
- Selection of panel components. Preparation, review and approvals of panel layout drawings
- Develop control system architecture for PLC and HMI systems
- Expertise with low and medium voltage system design in North America & Canada, including UL, CSA, NFPA and ANSI schematics
- Good knowledge of control systems, industrial control components, industrial control panels, information software, motor control devices, sensing devices, controllers and HMI products.
