The Role

- Define enterprise application architectures, target-state roadmaps, transition architectures, and modernization strategies.
- Establish application architecture standards, governance frameworks, design principles, reusable patterns, and design review processes.
- Translate business strategy, customer journeys, regulatory requirements, and operational needs into application architecture and implementation roadmaps.
- Lead application architecture assessments across business applications, digital platforms, integrations, APIs, data services, cloud-native applications, and AI-enabled systems.
- Design secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performing application ecosystems across hybrid cloud, SaaS, cloud-native, and enterprise environments.
- Guide modernization initiatives including API-first architectures, microservices, event-driven architectures, domain-driven design, serverless architectures, containers, and composable platforms.
- Define application integration strategies using APIs, messaging, ESB, event streaming, orchestration, and service-oriented architecture patterns.
- Partner with business and product stakeholders to define product vision, MVP scope, customer journeys, release plans, business cases, adoption metrics, and value realization goals.
- Support AI-enabled transformation initiatives including copilots, agentic workflows, RAG-based applications, model integration, governance, security, and responsible AI adoption.
- Lead strategic options analysis and present architecture trade-offs across cost, complexity, scalability, resilience, maintainability, speed-to-market, and business value.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and guide decisions on build, buy, modernize, automate, retire, replace, or scale application platforms.
- Conduct architecture reviews and ensure implementation aligns with approved architecture principles, standards, and target-state designs.
- Support RFP response development, technical due diligence, vendor evaluations, architecture governance, executive presentations, and solution shaping activities.
- Work closely with development, infrastructure, security, operations, data, and business teams to ensure successful delivery and adoption.
- Drive innovation through AI, automation,



platform engineering, modern software practices, and emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Experience -

Application Architecture

- 10+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture, digital transformation, large-scale software delivery, or technology consulting.
- Strong experience defining enterprise-wide application architectures, reference architectures, architectural standards, governance models, and architecture decision frameworks.
- Experience developing target-state architecture roadmaps, modernization strategies, and application transformation plans.
- Ability to create and review high-level designs (HLD), low-level designs (LLD), architecture blueprints, UML models, and architecture documentation.

Modern Application Engineering

- Strong expertise in at least one major enterprise technology stack such as Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, or equivalent modern platforms.
- Experience designing and delivering cloud-native applications using APIs, microservices, service-oriented architecture, event-driven patterns, containers, and serverless architectures.
- Experience with application integration technologies including APIs, API gateways, messaging platforms, event streaming platforms, middleware, and integration frameworks.
- Understanding of software engineering best practices including coding standards, test automation, quality engineering, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and release management.




- Familiarity with modern application development platforms such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Flutter, mobile platforms, container platforms, and developer ecosystems.

Cloud, Data, and AI

- Experience modernizing applications from on-premises platforms to cloud-native, SaaS, platform, or hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Understanding of application security, identity management, data protection, privacy controls, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or equivalent platforms.
- Understanding of AI application architecture including RAG, vector databases, embeddings, model orchestration, AI governance, prompt management, and agentic workflows.

Consulting and Leadership

- Ability to develop business cases, architecture blueprints, transformation roadmaps, and executive-level recommendations.
- Strong consulting, stakeholder management, facilitation, presentation, and executive communication skills.
- Experience leading architecture teams and influencing engineering, product, business, and technology stakeholders.
- Ability to train teams, mentor architects and developers, and promote architecture adoption across organizations.

Preferred Skills -

- 5+ years experience in banking or financial services.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale digital banking platforms, customer-facing applications, payment systems, or mission-critical transactional systems.
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Open Agile Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), SAFe, capability modelling, and value-stream mapping.
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture tools including Mega HOPEX, Avolution ABACUS, Planview, Orbus iServer, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with platform engineering, internal developer platforms, DevSecOps, observability, FinOps, and site reliability practices
