Associate Director Azure DevOps, Terraform & Cloud Engineering

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director Azure DevOps, Terraform & Cloud Engineering to lead enterprise cloud transformation, DevOps modernization, and platform engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will have 14+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure automation, and technology leadership, with deep expertise in Azure Cloud, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, and enterprise-scale cloud transformation programs.

The role requires a strategic leader who can drive DevOps maturity, mentor engineering teams, engage with senior stakeholders, and deliver scalable, secure, and automated cloud solutions for large enterprise clients.

Work You'll Do

- Lead end-to-end DevOps and Cloud Engineering engagements across multiple client programs.
- Define and drive enterprise DevOps strategy, cloud adoption roadmaps, and platform engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable cloud-native solutions.
- Lead architecture, development, deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Drive automation across infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, security, compliance, and monitoring.
- Establish engineering best practices, governance models, and DevOps operating frameworks.
- Mentor and develop high-performing DevOps and Cloud Engineering teams.
- Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and infrastructure reviews to ensure quality and compliance standards.
- Lead Agile delivery processes, sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for optimization, innovation, and cost reduction across cloud platforms.
- Drive cloud transformation programs and modernization initiatives for enterprise customers.
- Partner with leadership teams to define technology strategy and adoption frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps & CI/CD Leadership

- Lead the design, implementation,



and optimization of CI/CD pipelines using:
- Azure DevOps Services
- Azure Pipelines
- Azure Repos
- Azure Artifacts
- GitHub Actions

- Define enterprise branching and release management strategies.
- Standardize DevOps processes and engineering best practices across teams.
- Implement DevSecOps practices within CI/CD pipelines.

Terraform & Infrastructure as Code

- Architect and implement large-scale Infrastructure as Code solutions using:
- Terraform (Mandatory)
- ARM Templates
- Bicep
- Ansible

- Develop reusable Terraform modules, templates, and deployment frameworks.
- Manage Terraform state management, workspaces, backend configurations, and governance controls.
- Automate provisioning of enterprise Azure environments through Terraform.
- Lead Infrastructure as Code design reviews and establish IaC standards.

Azure Cloud Engineering

- Design and implement Azure Landing Zones and enterprise cloud architectures.
- Lead deployment and management of:
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Azure App Services
- Azure Functions
- Azure SQL Database
- Azure Storage
- Azure Networking Services
- Azure Identity & Access Management

- Drive cloud governance, policy management, and cost optimization initiatives.

Kubernetes & Container Platform

- Lead containerization strategies using Docker.
- Design and manage Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Oversee AKS cluster architecture and administration.
- Implement Helm Charts and GitOps deployment patterns.
- Establish container security and compliance standards.

Observability & Reliability Engineering

- Implement enterprise observability frameworks using:
- Azure Monitor
- Log Analytics
- Application Insights
- Azure Alerts and Dashboards

- Drive Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Define SLAs, SLOs, and operational excellence standards.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

- Lead and mentor DevOps, Cloud, Platform, and Infrastructure Engineering teams.
- Engage with CXOs, Program Managers, Architects, and Client Leadership.




- Drive technology transformation discussions and strategic initiatives.
- Support pre-sales, solutioning, estimation, and proposal development activities.

Security & Governance

- Implement Azure security best practices and governance frameworks.
- Ensure adherence to cloud security standards and compliance requirements.
- Drive DevSecOps adoption and automation of security controls.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

- 14+ years of overall experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Automation, or related technology leadership roles.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience leading Azure DevOps and Cloud Engineering programs.
- Experience managing enterprise-scale cloud transformation initiatives.
- Experience working in client-facing consulting and leadership roles.
